This day, the wind forgot to show up, which shortened some of the holes into the wind. The greens were fast and flawless. The fairways were also fast but very narrow in places. Getting on was one thing. Keeping it there was another. Several blind shots from tees and fairways, but aids are there to help out. No trees to worry about.
They are letting the rough grow right now due to the upcoming LPGA tournament this October.
I have never seen such a well signed course. No excuse for getting lost or coming around a corner just as someone is teeing off.
Even if you have a bad round, the veiws and beauty should win you over. I can't wait to play it again.

I love this place. Sure, it gets ripped alot on internet forums and bashed alot by "purists", but I absolutely love playing here. The elements will dictate your round, and that's why everytime I play here it feels like a completly different golf course. The course itself is in fantastic condition. Everything is green, lush and inviting. E-club helps on the pocketbook, but frankly I don't even care. Here, you have to strike the ball purely to control your ball in the wind and manuever yourself around the course. Fantastic way to spend 4 1/2 hours. Obviously the hotel is an eyesore, but hey, when seals are frolicking off the rocks to the left of the 17th green, its all good.

A buck and a half plus is not even close to what this course is worth. $65-$80 and I'm being generous. no driving range, 5hr round, staff nothing great pro shop just gauges you. Staff act like they don't make minimum wage which they all do. Will never return. Prefer to go to SF Gleneagles and play the 9 holer for a more enjoyable golfing experience and save a few $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Played 3/17/08 (AM). I think this is about the third time I have played this course and the first since thay put in the hotel (doesn"t add to the finish like it does on the Old Course). Good deal on enet $70.00 to play and $40.00 for replay. Course is in varry good shape and the staff are the best. I did it right, played this in the morning (before the wind) and played the old course in the afternoon (see review).

Played the Ocean today. It's been dry here in the Bay Area for over a week after heavy rains, so the course was soggy in spots. Half Moon Bay weather can be very unpredictable and changes fast. Although much of the Bay Area enjoyed clear, sunny skies, we were socked in by fog, brisk winds and it was quite chilly. Blow on your hands chilly. Even though you are right next to the ocean, you can hardly see it, even during the final three holes which are perched right above it. Bottom line is weather here is always dicey, so keep that in mind before you book a time. My fee was an email special of $60. If I had shelled out $150, I would have been very disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic! Paid $70/player with their email club special. Greens were still a little bumpy from aerification awhile back, but I didn't care, the views were amazing. Holes 16, 17, and 18 were awesome, playing right alongside the ocean. Customer service, conditioning, everything was top notch. We were blessed with the weather today, not too windy or cold. An absolute must play in the Bay Area.

Links style golf course, pretty open and not too difficult. Greens are in excellent shape and roll true. Relative to other courses in the area, I don't believe it is worth the $150, though the views can be spectacular, so that is worth something.

Played May 7, 2007; 75deg. calm, clear, perfect day which is very unusual for this area. So we caught it just right and it was one of the best rounds of my life. The course was in fantastic shape, the way you wish every course would be. It is a user friendly course, it won't beat you up. This one jumps up high on my list of favorites, a must play for the Bay Area. Staff was very helpful, asked if we could go off as a twosome by ourselves and were accomodated. Try lunch at the Ritz-Carlton. Not a difficult or long course, you can score well here, kept the driver in the bag and went 3W exclusively. Very scenic and peaceful feeling. GREAT!

Played the Ocean Course in the end of March on the $280 per foursome deal. The course was in GREAT condition & we're coming back to play the Old Course on the $250 per foursome deal next week.

Playi this course is like sliding around in a mud bowl. Despite having just a little bit of rain the course was totally water logged. Lots of grass on the fairways but the drainage must be terrible - standing water everywhere. Obviously cart paths only, however the fairways and rough are so wide that there is a very long walk to your ball. You couldn't see tha ball on the other side of the rough so you had to take 3 or 4 clubs on your stroll. Easily the most miserable round of golf that I have ever played.

The views of the ocean are great. Too bad we couldn't see them due to the fog. On some holes we couldn't even see 150 yards down thre fairway due to the fog.

Great outing. Course is in great shape, and greens are fair. Last three holes are amazing, views of the ocean and hotel are very memorable. Service is not so great. Everyone working there thinks that they are much better than the paying customer. Especaily Jake in the pro shop, what a donkey.

Course was in very nice condition. Pace of play was slow, backup at every hole until the 18th hole! Great views. For this price, why aren't there more amenities like maps/diagrams of the holes, water, tees, etc?
