Played yesterday in a nice 3.5 H POP. Weather was cold all morning (not one of your nicer S CA days) and did nothing for the improvement of course conditions. Fairways were hard and did not soften up, thus you ended up with tight lies all round. Tee boxes were very good throughout. Sand traps were not their normal soft sand and heard complaints all morning. Very little rough and they seem to be dong more tree cleaning (wonderful view now from 11th tee box out over the 17th green). Greens were very good for putting, but not for holding shots, as they played hard all morning. Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played on Saturday, December 9. They had put a top dressing of sand on the greens sometime this week, but it did not affect play. They were running well if not as good as the week before. The sand was little evident on the back nine, indicating to me that they started there.

Overall, the course was in pretty good shape. I like the fact they are regrowing grass in some of the areas they let go during the drought. Hopefully by this spring, with a decent rainy season, the course will be more lush around the edges. We started about 7:00, ten minutes late, and finished in just over 4.5 hours. We waited on most shots. Still, a gorgeous morning only marred by the cloud of smoke rising behind Malibu from the Thomas Fire.

I do think that since Rolling Hills is back and running, that may be one of the reasons why the course is more open and faster (we had many R H members there while renovations were being done). Greens to me, are the best I have seen them (thanks Scott). Customer service excellent at all levels.

First off on Monday at 6:00am. Still dark, but worth it to get around here in a nice pace. Our threesome walked without rushing in about 2 hours 50 min. Other than the absence of light for the first hole, it was great weather. Not too cold - no wind.

I was blown away at just how good the greens were. Very impressed with them, considering all the play this course gets. Fairways were generally fine, greenside bunkers had plenty of well raked sand. Rough was spotty or bare dirt, depending upon where your ball finished.

It's just hard to imagine being able to play a course on the ocean in such nice condition, for $16.50. (senior walking rate) A steal ! Makes me appreciate living in Southern California. If I lived closer, I'd be out here a whole lot more.

No issues with tee boxes; fairways had more grass coverage, so lies (you will find some thin areas) were good and good roll; some of the wire grass/rough had been cut down from previous week, but still hard to play from; bunkers all clean and playable; greens were rolling great and provided good chipping/putting (fast) all round. Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played today in a nice POP of 3.5 H. What a difference playing now (sunrise) vs the last few months of DST? Whatever was the issue with the greens last week, has now been cleared up. They chipped/putted (fast) like they did 2 weeks ago. Great to see that change. Fairways still have ample grass and provide good lies and roll. But there is a significant amount of rough growing up outside the fairways (maybe they will cut it? Maybe not). And it is deep, thick (you easily can loose a ball) and not at all playable (you are advised). Tees are all fine. Bunkers were playable and of no issue. Customer service excellent at all levels. I would like to comment about the previous post, regarding the draining of LV after rain? In all the years I have played here, I have never found this course to drain well after storms? In fact quite the opposite, IMO. This course does not drain well and personally I avoid this course after rain storms and give it time to dry out. Also, it is a very slippery course, during/after rains, due to the many hills.

Weather was perfect and the greens were real nice as well. There is not much bad to say about this county course. Great views with better than average conditions and all at a reasonable price. With the rainy season coming up you should note that this course drains very well so head up there after a rain storm passes by and you should enjoy a nice round.

Some quite a lot? Tee boxes all fine; fairways green and provided good roll/lies all round; there seems to be more rough growing up around the fairways and it is sticky; traps seemed fine and heard to complaints. Customer service was excellent at all levels.

Played yesterday in a nice POP of 4 H. I personally, found the course to be in better shape this week, than last week. Tee boxes had no issues; fairways had more grass and with the light breeze and sun, were providing great lies and roll; you will find some rough on the outside of the fairways and around some greens and it is difficult (like rough should be); bunkers were all fine, including the one I was in; greens were beautiful and chipped/putted (fast) all round, as the breeze dried them out. Customer service was excellent at all levels. No idea why there were no marshals (those of you who know Joe, wish him speedy recovery, please) but they could use a few good ones, again (hope you are reading this Bob/Chris)? Play it, play early (if possible) and you will not be disappointed.
