Played 11-16 and was very disappointed. This was a very long 5+ hour round on bad greens. Beginning with no starter available, everyone just went out when they wanted, which led to very slow play all day. Combine that with no Marshall and you get a less that enjoyable experience. At one point on the 16th tee, there were 4 groups waiting. Not fun. A shame as I like the course in general, but there is definately room for improvement.

What a comeback this course has made from its first Summer. I played on 11/12 we went of just after 9 am. Everything was perfect from the staff to the food and beverage to the golf course. I was truly impressed on how everything has improved from the harsh summer. I would recommend this course to everyone and the green fee is defintley worht it. It took us just over 4 hours to play our round. We dont have any complaints.

Played in a two-day tournament Oct. 25-26/08 in great golf weather - clear, hot, and almost no wind. My first time here - links-style course with UK feel. Was very apprehensive after reading negative comments about course conditions on this site. Found conditions to be OK - it was CPO both days as they recently finished overseeding, and many parts of the fairways were very wet and shaggy. Greens were generally OK as well - receptive and rolled well and were medium fast. Some scattered turf repairs on some greens and fairways, and most greens had scattered bare spots and/or patches. Course is challenging from blue tees as good driving is needed. Greens have a lot of undulation but no silly elevation changes or extreme tiering. GPS on carts (useless with CPO.) Yardage book essential to avoid hidden hazards, especially the (usually dry) burns that snake through many holes. Overall, a fun and challenging layout. I'd enjoy playing again, but hope they get their maintenance act together soon.

I went out as a single last wednesday.
The Good:
• it's a gorgeous place at sunrise. It climbs over the eastern hills and makes the western hills look like a painting - just magnificent colors and shades.
• The course is a solid links test. Nice rumbling, rolling fairways that are flat but offer few flat lies.
• The key element here, which is unique in So.Cal, is the burn that traverses the whole course and pops up on about 12 of the holes. You have to look for it and it makes some approaches and some tee shots very strategic - which is what it's all about isn 't it!
The Bad:
• The greens are a mess. Some fungus has gorged itself on them and so there are horrid blotchy patches on most greens - even huge slices of new turf where the old gave up the ghost. Additionally, etiquette appears to be low on local players consciences as where the fungus recedes the pot marks take over. it really is a mess.
Conclusion:
• If the greens were in good shape this place would be dynamite. It's fun, interesting, doesn't eat your lunch if you think a bit and don't mind using more hybrids than drivers. What's more, it's a great setting and a great value.
But ask how the greens are....then say "honestly?" because when I asked before coming out the guy kept saying they are rolling fine....as long as you are where the munchers aren't.

GREAT LAY OUT BUT YOU DO HAVE TO PLAY THIS COURSE A FEW TIMES TO KNOW WHERE YOU CAN HIT IT. I THINK CHAPPY MAY OF NOT LIKED THE COURSE AS MUCH BECAUSE HE LOST HIS 80 TO MY 76. A MUST PLAY.

Booked a tee time on golfnow.com for $40.00 even after reading reviews of poor greens at location. Arrived at proshop and received excellent treatment from proshop staff and starter. First time playing this course and I was genuinely excited to get out. Love the layout but was very disappointed in the course conditions. Greens on front were terrible but showed slight improvement on back nine. Fairways and tee boxes were thin. Traps were perfect. This place has been open less than one year so how is it possible for course conditions deteriorate so quickly. I will return if they get their act together here.

New starter kinda had things a little messed up on the first tee, but it was his first day so i can cut him some slack. The staff was great otherwise. Now for the real problum, the greens. Their email said working through some problums not dead, muddy, lumpy greens. The airifacation was not a problum. They were very upfrount and honest about it. The greens on the frount 9 were almost the worst i have ever played on. The one marshal told me they my close 9 holes to fix it but they are trying. I should have given the greens a 0 but due to some good ones on the back 9, i gave them a 3. The rest of the course was really good a little wet in a few areas but i can understand it. It has been very hot out their.(101 today)

Great true links layout. Greens are a little sticky, but great for a new course. Management and staff are absolute best. Love this challenging layout.

Played 9-11 in the afternoon. Wind kicked up on the back nine. Thunder storm just south of us. 2-3 club wind. Blew cross fairway mostly. Rarely directly in your face or at your back except on 8 and 9. Greens were bare in spots. Got an email from them today that said they will be aerating on September 15th. Played in exactly 4 hours in their bi-weekly skins game. Very good prime rib dinner afterward. Fairways had some new sod on them and they have improved since the last time I was there.
