I play here often and regard it as the best course in the Bay Area (excluding Pasatiempo which is $$$$$). The service here has always been 1st class. They treat everyone like a member of their private club. The issue with the greens is a potential problem but it didn't effect my round at all. It isn't clear what the problem is but they are losing areas on the greens and will have to do something but right now there is no reason not to play there.

Played today, 8/21. This place is usually in excellent shape, but today, the greens were yuck. All of the greens look like they're recovering from either being mowed too close or fungus or something, but they are almost unplayable at the moment. Don't play here for at least a month until the greens are fully recovered.

Very nice overall layout - quite scenic in places. Course is challenging and well kept. Quiet location among homes. There are significant wild areas and sand that require good shotmaking. Greens are in very good shape.

The greens were dry and very, very hard & fast. Some damage repair on the greens, very few repair areas on the fairways. Overall, great course for the green fee.

Four stars plus! Fantastic condition, pace of play was reasonable and this is as good a layout as you can find, especially for the money. This is one of my top 3 in the country, play it for sure! Only complaint is that the fairway traps have too much sand in them, not bad if the ball trickles in, but I had a fairway wood shot plug in one and had to pitch out sideways.

the friendly atmosphere gives this gated community course, a prvt. feeling to a track that is open to the general public. Most of the holes are relatively short from the whites. So you have to think before you reach for that "Big-Boy" in the bag. The blues are alot more stright forward and allows you too "open it up alittle" !

the greens are quick, and they've had a hard summer. the greenskeeper must be working overtime to keep them in the shape they're in now.

Ball placement is a must, 3 poke holes are common place.

Well worth the cost and the drive.

This has all the feeling of an modern exclusive country club course, with superb service, great restaurant, and gorgeous views, and with 5 sets of tees you can make it as tough as you want . . . and it is tough. This course will test you and delight you with its picturesque setting nestled next to Bonfonte Gardens in the foothills of Gilroy, with immaculate fairways and greens, and opportunities to hit some long drives downhill! One of the Bay Areas top courses for sure.

Played Monday June 5th in the morning. Overall good challenging course. The fairways are great with some undulations. The traps are supper soft. And, the greens are smooth and fast, but there are a lot of ball marks. The ball marks were healing, so they were pretty smooth, but there were some that did affect my line. The pin placements were pretty tough. Always try and stay below the hole. A good short game is key here. Try and knock it close, so the greens and multiple putts aren't a problem. The elevation changes and mature growth, especially up in the hills made some holes narrow. Course knowlege is key, so try and play with someone who knows the course. There is a short par on the back with a small narrow green that plays at least one club longer. Don't leave this one short.

The course is a drive down south, but its worth the drive to play it for the right price. I used golfnow.com to play for $45 on a Monday, but that didn't include the cart which cost an additional $18 per person. Thats the biggest rip off! The course is great and challenging, but don't pay any more than you have too. I value this course at $75 on the weekends with cart. If I got that deal, then I would maybe get my friends and make a trip down there on the weekend, but there are better couses for less money closer to SF.

Just outstanding! I love the challenge. The range balls on the first hole fairway were annoying however!

I enjoy this course ,because it forces you to play target golf. When the fairways are wide open you tend to just drive the ball ,rather than hit the shot.

I've been golfing now for eight years, and have played around 180 different courses.. I have to say that Eagle Ridge is about the finest golf courses in the entire S.F. Bay area. Its my personal favorite. The course is always in prime condition and the staff is as fine as there is. Eagle Ridge is the only course that will give you a free round of golf on your birthday. There are four of us that go to Eagle Ridge together on all our birthdays. Its a couirse thats got every challange you could want and your score doesnt seem to matter, you are so pleased with the golfing that you acquire the attitude that you hope you are never good enough to care.. Thank You Eagle Ridge, for giving us a true golfing treat in Northern California... thanxs again, John Streed

I have a tournament at Eagle Ridge in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions on playing the course from the Ladies green tees would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Played there on Fri, March 25.
Course was in good condition. Clubhouse staff was efficient and friendly. Greens were recently sanded but still putted smoothly.

Course is extremely well maintained. Great setting with rolling fairways, wooded hills, small lakes, and streams snaking throughout the course. Approximately 97 deep-faced bunkers guard fairways and greens. The greens are quite large with mutiple tiers and undulations requiring accurate shots to enable no more than 2 putts on fast greens.
I have played the course many times and have never been disappointed with its condition or the service provided by the golf club staff. Eagle Ridge is a difficult track but keeps you wanting to come back time and time again.

Course is always in great condition no matter the time of year. A great course to play all year round. Not a great deal of rain in Gilroy. Good club house too.
