Teed off at 8am and finished in 3:55. The greens rolled fairly smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. The greens have recovered from aeration three weeks ago other than slight signs of holes around the outside edges of some of the greens. The fairways had mostly good coverage. However, there are some dry thin and even bare spots scattered about. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots and not too penal. The tee boxes were fair to good. A few were thin of grass while the others were on the long side. Like most courses the tee boxes are mildly unlevel. The bunkers were a bit wet but playable (I was in 3 greenside).

The driving range is open but the putting and chipping greens are closed. The cafe is open. Do not know if inside dining is available but there was a fair amount of outside tables. Check in and pay is at a table at the entrance to the pro shop. Masks to be worn in all common areas. The staff was friendly.

Been awhile since playing Eldo. Like the layout of this course.

Course conditions were decent. Greens rolled pretty nicely. Firm conditions on a warm Friday afternoon. Fairways have enough coverage so no complaints here.

Check in was smooth. They only let you check in 10 mins before tee time. Funny how they implementing Covid protocols and yet people were hanging out and congregating without social distancing.

POP - 3 hours for 9 holes. We had good company and had fun playing so it didn't feel like it was slow but after checking the time after 9 holes...

Played 8.25.20. Went out as a single at 6:40 am and got paired up with a three some. POP was 4 hours on the nose. Normally I expect to finish in 3:30 or better at that time but I guess that’s wishful thinking now days. Marshall’s were out there but didn’t push the first few groups. I feel sorry for people teeing off at 9 or 10 am as they ruined the whole day now.

Anyways, course was in great shape. Maybe it’s cause I’ve been playing Victoria a lot but it was nice to have fairways with solid coverage. Greens rolled great and were a bit on the fast side on the back nine. Tees were fine except for hole 14. Overall it was a fun day. It’s a shame the price has gone up on these Long Beach munis. 42 bucks to walk on a weekday. I guess that’s par for the course in 2020.

Always enjoy this layout- short but demanding off the tee(Huge trees) with old school style greens. Very traditional style golf.

Played Eldo with my regular group on 8/20. On a warm and muggy morning, we had a 7:20 tee time and got off right on time. 2 of us rode single carts and the other 2 walked but kept up. POP was around 3.5 hours with no one in front of us.

Fairways in good shape, if you enjoy kikuyu. Heavy kikuyu throughout the course particularly as you get closer to the green. The rough was thick with you guessed it, kikuyu. Hard to hit out of. Wasn’t in any bunkers but they looked hard and damp. Tee boxes? I’m not always critical of tee boxes because this is not a big issue for me but a couple of them are pretty bad. #14 tee box had weeds growing. Many of the others just had the heavy kikuyu.

Greens were really nice. A bit damp so they were definitely holding but they rolled true.

Despite many quirks, I always enjoy playing here. I really enjoy the layout and is a fun course to play, A park like setting and very popular. Definitely recommend.

Took advantage of an invite to play El Dorado Park. I've always liked playing this course, despite the fact it usually treats me very unkindly. A course I just seem to struggle to score. I always felt the course was a bit overpriced, but was able to play for the resident rate today? No argument by me.

Course is in fairly decent shape. Greens rolled well, fairways had plenty of grass with the a few bare areas. Rough was a mixed bag, but playable. Bunkers were better than expected, both I found had plenty of sand.

ElDo can play tough, particularly if you spray the ball, but if you can keep it in the short grass, while still a good test, is much more playable. Nice morning in Long Beach.

Teed off Friday at 7:30 finishing in 4:10. The course is in overall good condition. The greens were rolling fairly smooth with medium+ speed and played a little firm. The fairways were a little furry so not a lot of roll on tee shots but they had good coverage with some brown spots. The rough was mostly good. There are a few wet spots in the rough where water tends to collect. The bunkers were a little firm but playable. The tee boxes are fair to good mostly due to mild unlevelness. Driving range was open but busy with fewer slots available. Putting green was closed. Always enjoy playing Eldo. Staff was friendly.

Played Eldo with my regular group on 7/8. Early morning 6:30 start and there were a lot of golfers ready to go at that hour. Single carts and finished in 3.5 hours and would have been faster but we followed a group of walkers. No complaints but single carts definitely speed up play. The course is in really nice condition right now. Fairways were really nice. Good lies. The rough was not very thick but it was definitely better to be in fairway. Bunkers were damp but still very playable. The greens were excellent and rolled much faster than the last time I was here. Best I have ever seen them. Noticed some very light sand on them but it had no effect. I find Eldo a challenging track. Maybe if I did a better job of hitting fairways on this day I would feel differently! A lot of trees line the fairways so keep it in the short stuff. Definitely recommend playing here.

Played ElDo Tuesday and got around in under 4 hours. Course is in good to great shape with the only real problem being the sand traps, most hard and not cared for but that is what we deal with in Covid times. Greens were a little bumpy but were rolling well and had some speed to them. Fairways lush and never a bad lie if you were in them. Rough was enough to make you think and had some really thick areas around the greens. Love the layout of this course and it is in good shape right now.
