Played as a single this morning at 7 and was the first one out. Love the layout of this place although I really need to learn how to hit off of uneven lies. I have chunked my fair share of shots on this course. The layout of this course is its strength. The holes are varied and makes for a fun round. The conditions are fair to good. Tee boxes could use some work and its sometimes hard to find an even area to tee your ball on. The fairways are okay but could be better. Looks like the cold has made the grass a little brown but it is expected this time of year. The greens are okay in that there are some bare spots on each green. Overall, this course is great for the price, especially if you can get a deal on green fees. I played today for 25 which was pretty good for 18 holes where you get to ride. I would recommend this course just for the practice you get on uneven lies. Hard to simulate this on the practice tee.

I PLAYED WITH MY TOURNAMENT GROUP, SUNDAY JULY 13, 2008. tHE LAYOUT IF FUNNY AND CHALLANGING, BUT THE OVER ALL COURSE CONDITION WAS JUST GOOD/FAIR.
THE FAIRWAY WAS THIN AND A LITTLE HARD IN SOME PLACES.
THE ROUGH WAS GOOD, IT GIVES YOU A FAIR SHOT OUT AND TO APPROACH THE GEEEN. THE BUNKERS SAND QUALITY WAS TERRIBLE, HARD PACKED AND GRITTY, A SHOVAL IS THE RECOMENDED CHOICE TO GET OUT OF ANY OF THE BUNKERS, OVER A SAND WEDGE. THE GREENS WHERE PRETTY DISAPPOINTING, THE ARE SO SLOW AND LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE IN PUBUERTY, THEY WHERE FULL OF "ACNE" BUMPS.
I WOULD NOT PUT THIS AS A COURSE OF CHOICE, BUT IF WE CAN PLAY FOR ABOUT HALF THE COST, I WOULD SAY "YES" BECAUSE OF THE LAY OUT DESIGN.

Played in a company tournament here for the first time last weekend. Overall this is a very fun and challenging course. Close proximity to the houses also made it even more nail biting. The elevation changes are nothing like I have ever seen before. My only complaint is the bunkers. I only landed in one but it was rock hard.

Played on March 15th. Pace of play was pretty slow (5 1/4 hours- at one point stood for 17 minutes on the 16th tee), but we were behind a tournament of players that wanted to goof around more than golf around. Haven't been here for about 15 years, and the course is better than I remember. Most the course was in good shape, but the greens were the most inconsistent, some bumpy, some smooth, some hard, some spongy, some slow and some fast, but nice to say that this course had the fewest ball marks of any course in the area - hopefully a nice trend that other courses should really encourage. A couple of fairways look like they took quite a beating, most notably #9, which would be an oustanding hole if the fairway wasn't so bare. Lots of elevation changes and quite challenging for a par 70 course. While some par 4s were quite short, there are at least 6 strong par 4s that would stand up against the toughest on any other course. Par 3s were very strong also. Be prepared for uneven stances all day, quite a challenge. Keep your drives in the fairway because the rough, while not penal, does challenge club selection and usually was a 1/2 stroke penalty.

This course needed some work and the sand traps were the worst I have ever seen. Food is really terrific, especially the breakfast burritos. I did not have too much fun on this course and not to mention I was playing with a friend that talked trash all day.

Played this course on Sunday Feb. 24. Despite the rains Saturday night and early Sunday morning this course was in decent shape. I've played this course for about 10 years now and although some greens had some bare spots, overall green conditions were good and possibly the best they've been in a while. The course layout is fun and challenging and you can't beat the twilight rate.

Everything was quite lush. Fairways were not bare nor were the greens. However in the same respect, the greens were a little shaggy and therefore slower. All in all great day and course was in solid shape.

I played this course with idudditz on February 2nd, and I couldn't agree more with his assessment. The price was great, especially for a saturday. I was very impressed by the 11 am twilight. I really enjoyed the layout of the course, I feel like I traveled all throughout riverside. Every hole was very unique and there were a lot of challenging slopes and elevation changes. The course played slow however, which can probably be expected on a saturday afternoon with a cheap twilight rate. The only real problem I had with Indian Hills was the condition of the greens. There were many bare spots which really made the greens hard to read. I enjoyed this course but would like to see the condition of the greens improve before I make a return trip.

Played this course for the first time on 2/2. I gotta say I loved the layout with every hole being different and I don't think there were any holes having adjoing fairways. Unfortunately, the greens just didn't cut it. Almost every green had some areas that were bare or damaged. Not only that, but some of the holes were cut right next to the damaged areas! It was nice to get a twilight price at 11:30 for $36 (twilight starts at 11) but they definately need to do fix the bare spots on the greens before I would consider playing it again.

As mentioned elsewhere, layout is nice although there is no space left around the course after all the house building. No range, no practice area.

What really lets them down is the quality of the greens. Even allowing for all the rain that has fallen recently, they are very, very poor in places. Others were just shaggy and slow. What's worse, the holes were often cut right in the middle of the damaged areas. Some tee boxes were in bad shape too, sandy and covered in divots. Fairways not at all bad, with the exception of the 9th which looks like a dirt track half way down - great reward for a long straight drive.

At present, I'd give this place a miss unless the green fee was under $25.

The staff at Indian Hills Golf Club are always courteous and friendly.

First time I played the course and loved the layout (****), but thought the condition was extremely poor (*). Greens keeping staff needs to step it up as they have a great layout to work from! Greens were shaggy and super slow. Very scenic course which doesn't require a driver on every par 4/5. Also liked the fact that each hole was unique, with little (no?) adjoining fairways. Definitely need to play it a couple of times to play it properly. Got around pretty good, though, due to the Greenskeeper.org playing tips I printed the night before I played. Thanks, karenv1 and Gquman for helping “caddie” for me!

i play at indian hills at least once a month and everytime i think i got the golf course figured out and how to play it i hit it where i don't want i get in trouble, it's a fun course and you get to use all your weapons, and you have alot of uphill and downhill lies. my favorite hole is #16, it's a par 4 and your hitting your tee shot from a hill with a drop of about 70 to 80 feet. robser

Played here 10/20 and fairways are in average condition in some areas to unplayable on other holes, depending on where you hit it. Greens are in good shape but small so accuracy is a must. Tee boxes and cart paths are questionable. Given these issues, I would not put this course in my rotation.

course is in rough condition now. Greens appeared to have a fungus & some bare spots. fairways weren't too good either. Rough was hard with sparse grass. Not too many good places to hit the ball from. Conditions have gone downhill in the last couple months. I thought the recent cooler spell would have allowed some recovery but I was wrong. It was a beautiful day with nice elevated views, however.

played twilite 8-3-07. Hadn't played here in years. It's a course with a lot of elevation changes. Could be manicured better but has some interesting holes & nice views. Fairways mostly in good shape but greens didn't hold shots very well. Was only in one trap but its sand was very good & the other traps I observed also appeared to have quality sand. A fun course to play.

The fairways are not recoveing from the winter conditions and have several bare spots. Enjoy playing this course as the staff are very friendly and the course is definitely worth the price of the green fee.

Just fiinishing playing here today. This course has a lot of elevation changes which make this a good course to play on. If you don't hit the ball straight, stay home. Greens played slow today and the fairways for the most part were in good conditon. Not many dog legs, no real water holes. If I am in this area, I would play here again.

First time at Indian Hills, 05/11/07. Called for a tee time the day before but didn't really have to, it was wide open. The staff was not overly friendly but the service wasn't bad. Please note that the rates posted on Greenskeeper.org is more accurate than the Indian Hills website. The price was great $36.00 to ride, the cart even had a cooler already half filled with ice. We teed-off at around 9am and finished around 1pm, not a bad pace considering we took a break after the 9th hole for a bite to eat. The fairway and rough were pretty lush with a few bare or brown spots but still very manageable. The greens were in fair condition & really quick, wtih the exception of a couple of holes where it was damaged (for reasons unknown). It wasn't a really difficult course but it wasn't easy either. The elevation changes were pretty interesting, with the 16th hole standing out in this regard. All-in-all I'd come back to this course because of the condition & price. From a scale of (A+ to F-), I give this course a "B+".

Indian Hills is the best kept secret in Riverside county.
It is in excellent condition most of the year with the exception of summer where it is in good condition.
It is a very challenging course with excellent, helpful staff.
The hot dogs are excellent.
The price for a round is very fair and the pro shop merchandise is priced much lower than other courses.
I give this course an A all around.

Have not played here in years, mostly due to the fact I'm bored with this course, used to play here alot, and shabby conditions. found course to be much improved in many areas, mostly fairway conditions are improved dramatically, however greens still suck!! Bentgrass has not improved the previous Poa conditions, as greens are pitfully slow, bad greens for 10+years you think they would fire that dude!! but as I understand it he's family. Tight course, lots of elevation changes, windy afternoon conditions, do provide a rather good challenge even with the shortness of course. Will play again for free, but my $ will go to a more interesting course.

Played yesterday, May 18, 2006. Tee boxes, fairways were decent. Greens held approach shots pretty well but were really, really slow. Played behind a fivesome that was even slower. They should ban fivesomes everywhere if their cumulative handicap is in the 100s. They even had the nerve to play from the tips.

Starter and Marshal were friendly and funny as always.

Always a treat to play this course.

Played at Indian Hills on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at a twilight rate of $24.00 to ride. The course was in decent shape as a tournament was currently going on. The tee boxes were ok. The fairways were somewhat shabby in various areas. The greens were decent and in a little better shape from the last time I played there (late February 2006). The views were amazing as there was no smog due to the rains that fell earlier in the week. Currently, there is construction going on in the 1st hole/9th hole area (the site of the former range) and dust kicks up periodically.

Overall, a great value for the diversity in scenery (mountain and valley views), shot selection (a variety of short par fours, uphill par threes, and open par fives), and overall layout.

Indian Hills is a great course and well worth the money. The guys in the golf shop were friendly and very professional. The course looked as though it had been over seeded which made the fairways play well. The new carts were a plus. The fairways were in fair shape, but the greens were hard(no bite).
The front nine had a marshall but the back nine didn't so the slow players were not letting the twosomes through. It made for a very long day. The winds were calm until the late afternoon.
The tee boxes need work, they were not in good shape.
The price is right so it was not a bad day to golf.

I play Indian Hills Golf Club about once a month and I find it to be one of the most well groomed and challenging courses that I have found in the Inland Empire area.
It's layout is great. It's very green and the tee boxes are in immaculate condition, as well as the greens.
This course is inexpensive and plays like one of the more expensive courses that I have played in the area.
I come from Canyon Lake, where there is a private country club, to play Indian Hills and I actually save money and have a better time than if I played my home course.

Played this course 10/09/05. Course in fair shape. Using alternate tee boxes on most holes, and fairways in borderline shape at best! Greens, however, were in excellent shape but for just a couple of bad spots. Pin placements on this day difficult. Many spots on fairways just dirt & marked as course under repair. Still a very nice course if upkeep was brought up a notch or two. Good value for the money!

Horrible course!!!!!! i played this track about a year ago, and it was in decent shape. The winds yesterday(Oct. 5th) werent that bad once u got down on the course, but the tee boxes were hard-packed sand/dirt with some crab grass, the greens were super slow, and were the texture of a fairway at a nicer course, and the fairways were tangled burnt grass! the greens had recently been punched, which i specifically asked when i made the tee time, etc. overall a bad course. This place has done a compete 180. I did find about 7 pro v's though so that was a bonus.

Played on July 31st. Course was in pretty good shape. It's a fun layout as you wind through the housing community (no parallel fairways). The only complaint I could have was that the sprinklers were still on for the 10th fairway when we teed off for the back 9. My wife and I were fortunate enough to get around it, but my friend was not. If you play after noon, it's only $30 with cart.

Overall impressive course especially after the rain. It's like as if it never did rain. If you like to walk, as I do, this is not the place because it is very hilly and some holes take some driving to get to. Majority of holes leave very little room for error because on either side is either new homes or out of bounds. Lakes are not challenging and are easily avoided.

The last time I played this course was 10 years ago.
I can wait a while longer before I play it again.
Course is fair, but one has to prepare for some blind
"set ups" for approaches and really stroke the ball on
the greens as they are pretty slow. Conditions are good overall but you have to like playing sidehill, uphill, downhill and deal with trees.Ten years
ago they were doing home construction around some
of the perimeters, and d%mn ed if they aren't still in the
middle of some kind of construction between 1/9!
Pretty well kept course with adequate service.

Course is in great shape. Short but will bite hard if you can't get it to where you aim. You must be accurate or your will score big. Greens are in great shape but a bit slow. This track is a good secret as many choose to play the other courses around it. Good for us who play it! Walked in Friday morning and got right on, as usual. Nice to see beverage service cruising the course. I often play here, and it is in as good a shape as can be now.

Indian Hills is one of the great values in Riverside County!!! If you have not been out here lately you need to give it a chance. Fairways are in immaculate condition and the greens are just as good. Short layout so if you are straight expect a good round, unless you cannot read a putt. Greens play true, but make sure you do not sally it.

Bring you tee shot, as thats where all the trouble lurks. Short course that demands positioning off the tee!! Otherwise very simple. Fairways and rough are as good as I have ever seen them, greens not mowed or would be good, pretty slow and bumpy! Played in just over 3 hrs. Great value for the cash!!! Good views of the smog over Ontario.

Me and my buddy had a great time we were the first off. The lady in the pro shop brought us our key to the cart while we were getting our cup of coffee. We played 18 in 3 hours flat. had so much fun that we decided to go again for half the fee we played another 18 we teed off at 6:00am and we were done with 36 holes by 12:00pm the only down fall was that they were aerating the tee boxes but we only had to deal with it on 7 tees out of the 36. I must say the course is looking beautiful right now and they must be turning the sand traps because they are playing much softer.

Used to be one of my favorite places to play however I've been avoiding this course for a while because of the declining conditions. Desperately called Sunday morning and got a 10am tee time for the same day. Definitely playable with friendly employees, great pace of play, within 4 hrs., decent tee boxes, and respectable greens but, noticeable brown patches throughout every fairway; almost worth the green fee. Overall a fun layout, with homes outlining the inbound areas, water in play on 3 holes, a few elevation changes and 1 hole with about 100ft drop. Note: bring extra balls.

Great Views from the Tee Boxes; And that's where it stops. Tee boxes in poor shape. Fairways in poor shape. Greens in fair shape. Sand Traps are as hard as rock. Grass clippings everywhere. The marshalls don't have a clue. Etc. etc. etc.

The tee boxes and the greens were terrible. Many brown spots in the fairway. For the same price, I rather play at Rancho Vista in Palmdale. I won't go back to play, anytime soon.
