Made my first-ever summer Colorado trip and used Day 1 to play Colorado National. I'll keep this review short because I'll be doing a proper one for the trip's main course, but that doesn't mean Colorado National isn't a nice track.

The fairways, tee boxes and facilities are all great. Very lush and green, and wow - that Colorado blue sky. Pretty nice layout on the front 9, but it does get a little quirky at the end with a bizarre par 5, a 300 yard par 4 over water, and a funky closing hole.

The greens were in pretty rough shape though - bit slow and quite bumpy. The sand was fine from what I remember as well. Rough is a mixture of tall grass and thick stuff that you should avoid when possible.

Not sure if the course is worth the greens fees as our day was part of a little mini tournament (not scoring that way though - never mind), but I believe it's regularly around $80 which I think may be slightly overpriced in current condition, but not by much.
