Fired a 72 today with birdies on 4 and 18 and bogeys on 6 and 16. Course was in great shape with no wind and some tough pin placements.![]() Please check my websitegdrgolf instruction click here |

Considering the normal wind patterns @ Olivas. It is frequently easier to make a 4 on holes 4/18 than it is on holes 6/16, regardless of what the scorecard par says. I actually have more 3's (one each) on holes 4/18 as I do on holes 6/16 (one on 6, none on 16). But 72? Great shooting! ![]() The goal has always been long and straight! But since I can no longer hit them long, hopefully straighter could be achieved more than occasionally? |

Played two rounds this weekend in Arizona first one was against Sal at Oakcreek country club in Sedona AZ. Driver was working fine most wedges were ok but chipping and putting were garbage. Shot a 92 with no birdies which is the 3rd straight GK match with a 90+! (I've been told that's good when you are a 11 handicap!)This Morning I joined my boss for a round at Elephant Rocks Golf Course in Williams AZ and it was like a switch had flipped. I was hammering drives 330-340 in the elevation my wedges were on fire and putting was decent enough went 39-43 for an 82 and I blew a chance at 70's by going 3 over on the last two holes. ( d%mn trees in the middle of the fairway!) I did make 3 birdies which was nice on very fast greens. [[Edited by mpisarski01 on Sunday June 13, 2021 8:44 PM]] ![]() |

Either way, had one of my most consistent 18s in a long time finding 8 greens and 70% of the fairways en route to a 7-par, 10-bogey, 1-double 84. The worst part of it? I did not make a single 1-putt all afternoon on the super fast greens, but instead had two 3-putts and 38 putts total for the round. If I had been cleaner with the putter (which is usually a strong(ish) point of my game), I definitely should have had sub-80 in view. But that's life. We go again!![]() |

We've played in my member guest for the last 6 years and have never played to our numbers all tourney. Well, this is the first time I was able to play in his, and we both played well. Headline: we won our flight and a lot of money. Fast and undulating greens with only 3 3 putts btwn the 2 of us. Ham and egg like crazy. First day best ball, shot a net 67. Second day modified chapman: both drive, both play partner's drive, then choose one and alternate shot in. We shot 2 under, 8 under net... for a 131. Good for 3rd place in our flight of 12. But the 2 ahead of us ended up in the top 3 overall... so we got 1st place money $150 each. Then in the chapman, we had 2 skins, good for net and gross skins: so 4 skins: birdie net eagles.... worth a total of $400 each. (entry fee was $300 total, which comes with all you can drink and eat, and a gift bag that included a pair of foot joy shoes, flex xp $120 value.. So I came out ahead!) Then there was the derby. if you never played in one of these, it's interesting. We started with 20 teams on one hole. True alternate shot. EAch hole, teams are eliminated. First hole 6 teams, then 6, then 4... then the final 4 go to one. Cutline ties at the end of each hole go to a chip off. So it's pretty nerve wracking... and takes forever. you go an hour between actual shots. There are 3 flights, so the winner of each flight battle for sudden death. We made the final hole and our par lost to a par net birdie. But if we would've survived that, there is parimutual betting, and i'm sure no one bet on us, except for me.. that would've been worth 2-600 depending on win place show. Anyways... it was fun to compete and play well. ![]() |

I brought my clubs to Bullhead City this week while visiting my folks. Got out Tuesday morning at GK Supporter Mojave Resort Golf Club. Review to be posted today with photos. Golf course was in great shape considering all the heat up there recently. I was understandably rusty. Shot a 49 on the front nine, then flipped a switch and shot 40 on the back. Heck of a way to break 90. Playing 18 this Tuesday at GK Guru Wood Ranch Golf Club. Awesome private course that I'm also running a Golf Moose/GK outing at on July 19th. Prior that outing, will be playing my first GK Cup 17 match in Vegas on 7/11. Got a lot of matches to catch up on.![]() GK FACEBOOK - Please check it out - CLICK HERE - I'm doing fun posts all the time. |

Johnny and I shared a birdie on the par 5 6th hole which was fun. I had an interesting round going -2 on all the 4s and 5s and throwing up on myself +4 on the par 3s finishing with a 74. Fun private course that we had never seen before. Immaculate conditions. ![]() Please check my websitegdrgolf instruction click here |
