Great golf, second straight week of really great golf on the LPGA. On the sad side, Michelle earned about as much for playing in that heat as the winner of the Senior PGA tour event in Arizona will tomorrow.

Still great show, great golf by everyone in the top 15.

Sorry for not updating the last few days. Because of the Noreaster storm here on the East Coast, we were without power until now.

Here are the final results of the HSBC Women's World Championship:

1 Michelle Wie -17
2 Jenny Shin -16
2 Brooke Henderson -16
2 Danielle Kang -16
2 Nelly Korda -16

With the LPGA taking a one week break before resuming its schedule in the United States, it is as good a time as any to look at some key player statistics after the first four tournaments of the year.

The American Players and Jin Young Ko have dominated the early season:

As we wait for the LPGA to resume its schedule, I would like to do another LPGA profile. These profiles have proven very popular with my readers.

The player I have chosen today is

Yani Tseng:

Ah...Yani Tseng...I've been waiting for this!

Quite possibly the most head-scratching "Whatever Happened To?" since, I don't know...Baby Jane? After giving Morgan Pressel serious consideration for that honor, Tseng easily emerges as the front runner...and by a wide margin. While both are close in age and burst onto the scene at about the same time, it was quite apparent Tseng possessed more talent and she proved it over a period of five seasons (2008-2012), notching 15 LPGA Tour wins (including 5 majors) while Pressel has "amassed" a total of 2 LPGA victories (1 major) for her entire career, the last one coming in 2008. Tseng has also claimed an additional 12 victories in various foreign tour events.

Since that stretch, Tseng has "lost" her game and struggled mightily to regain her winning form; sadly, making the cut has often been the difference between a good vs. bad week over the past three years or so. Need proof? 23 cuts made in 50 events over the past two years, 36 out of 51 the two years before that, and 38 of 47 previous to that. While Tseng still drives the ball a long way off the tee (260-270 yards), she was never known as an accurate driver and this number has been dropping the past few years. And she's never possessed a very strong short game either, particularly out of the sand. Combine this with a fairly respectable putting stat that has basically remained level (although I think she does have a tendency to struggle on the greens), and it's easy to see that her wayward shots have been costly.

Now, does that reflect a swing issue? Possibly, but I feel it's a combination of factors that may have undermined Tseng's career. She's been at it for a long time and, not surprisingly, may have gotten burned out at an early age, especially considering the demands placed on her after her explosive debut. There's also the question of whether or not Tseng is totally committed to the game like she once was. Throw a lack of confidence, some swing coach changes, a little management interference, the ever-present family issues, and other off-course situations into the mix and you've got your recipe for distress and mediocrity right there.

If there's anyone on the LPGA Tour I'd like to see regain their "mojo", it would be Tseng. She's got a dynamic golf swing and is fun to watch, as opposed to someone like Lydia Ko or Inbee Park, who are perfect if you need to take a nap but abhor sleeping pills. Even at the age of 29, now considered a grizzled, old "veteran" in today's game, I believe Tseng has the talent to once again become relevant on the LPGA Tour, but only if she has the desire and work ethic to do so.

After a one week break the LPGA resumes its schedule this week with the playing of the LPGA Founders Cup. This will be the first of 3 consecutive tournaments that will be played on the west coast of the United States, and will include the year's first major championship.

Here is my preview and much more:
