Well written, interesting and informative preview Tony. Nice work.

Recommended read for those who may pay more than casual attention to play this week. Why is it called play? Some play the game as I do most weekends. At this level it's a bit more than play a game.

I'd think most pro's would favor that the amateurs finish like Nancy Lopez (2nd). What happens to the $1M winner's purse if an amateur pulls a Phil (200-1 or more) and wins it? Odds for A Lim Kim to repeat about the same? Wish her well, her ytd stats indicate she needs to find some mojo.

76th version of this major championship love the historical factor. First first time winner? Patty Berg (1946) Last club I acquired for my collection? A Wilson cup defender Patty Berg signature. Are there still signature club sets marketed for men or women? Just a thought.

Olympic Club (est. 1860) great to see the 1st USGA Women's Championship here. Is this the first ladies "major" for this course as well? Did a few laps around the track when the Men played here (2012 Webb Simpson). The players who have experience and have done well at Lake Merced (MEDIHEAL) may find success here and next week they "travel" 2.9 miles that venue in Daly City.

Any LINKSOUL sponsored women playing?

Megha Ganne !!!!

She's my pick to go wire to wire.

My question above 3 days ago is relevant this morning. Can she declare professional status Sunday before she turns in her final round card?

QUOTED  Very strangely, they are teeing off on holes 1 and 9 today (not 10)

IF I recall correctly the geography and routing in relation to the clubhouse makes that the best way to hold a major there.

Sure would like to reconfirm that.
That would be best by playing the classic course.
Where's Johnny Miller? Maybe he can help.

An invite to play there? Bucket list.

Yes, finishing on 6 puts them right to the clubhouse. I don't believe she can turn pro on Sunday and collect the purse.

No more split tees.

36 holes to the biggest purse in Women's Golf $1,000,000

It's for real now LADIES.

Some big names are below the cut line.

Who will emerge?

WOMENS US OPEN POST VIEW

interesting article

https://www.lpga.com/news/2021/yuka-saso-gives-a-life-lesson-in-seismic -win-at-us-womens-open

I poised it as a question early in the week about a first time winner in this topics second post.

Yuka Saso answered it!

I've got to say I was pulling for Lexi and the USA, but the Olympic Club had it's say at the end of the day.

And that's all I got to say. Except get out there and PLAY!
