Johnny,

If you want to stick with steel shafts, get these put in next time you regrip. Same general idea as Sensicore, these Prosoft inserts do a nice job of dampening vibration in steel shafts.

Been there---best advice is ice, a short lay off, no mats--definitely no mats -- and pay attention to your sleeping habits; you do NOT want to sleep with the elbow bent---keep it as straight as you can in bed; sleeping on it the wrong way can cause a bunch of pain---eventually it will be second nature. I got by this -- you can too.

These weird types of joint / tendon / soft tissue pains are the types of injuries that respond really well to acupuncture. I had my own long-term right wrist injury due to a couple of bad divots and tree roots, a condition that got compounded by practicing on mats. Nothing showed up on an MRI. Eventually I went to an acupuncturist, and with two sessions I was pain-free. The pain would come back every year or two after more golf and more mat practice. So a couple of years ago, my acupuncturist and I planned a six-week treatment, going twice a week. It was very successful, and the pain has not come back.

I would ask your friends if they have recommendations for a reputable acupuncturist in your local area.

Hope your feeling better buddy--ice and maybe take a couple weeks off for it to heal. Just started playing full court basketball again a couple weeks ago and I am feeling my age catching up with me--lol.

Had a super fun playing 36 yesterday with fellow GK'ers at Marine Memorial and La Costa - reviews coming shortly and photos.

As for the elbow tendinitis, lots of ibuprofen, T-Relief anit-inflammatory and a Ace pressure strap on the forearm. Also not hitting driver. Got through the rounds! - but so badly missed not being able to hit my driver. I love bombing drives. Got pretty old on the my last 18 reaching for the 2-iron. I need to get this better. Hoping I'll be hitting driver again in time for GK Plays La Costsa on 9/2.

Thanks for the all the advice everyone!

I injured my elbow on the back nine at Candlewood on 9/13. I took the next 10 days or so off of golf, but 3 rounds in 4 days has it hurting really bad again. I bought and wore a brace that doesn't seem like much help. My issue is I can't really diagnose what's wrong. My research seems to indicate tennis elbow pain is on the forearm side of the elbow, while golfer's elbow the pain is on the inside of the bicep. My pain is mostly right in the bone of the elbow itself. Holding anything up with my right arm that's more than a pound or two is very painful. If anyone has any new advice not mentioned above, let me know! Thanks.

Twice in my life, right elbow region tendonitis. Each time, after about 3 months of self healing attempts failed, got the doc to give me the local cortizone shot. Back to normal each time in less than 2 weeks.
My doc warned me, 2 cortizone shots in the exact same spot, is the limit. If mine comes back, I'm screwed! I couldn't hold my mug of coffee when it was happening.
Good luck to you!

I had this in the 90s while I was bowling and doing alot of construction at home with a hamner. They make a brace, ahout an inch wide that goes on the arm just below the elbow, you basically have to wear that 24/7 for about a month or so and if it starts not to hurt, then continue to wear it for about 4 months while golfing. When you take it off , if you feel pain just put it back on for when you play golf. Mine lasted for ahile and I bowled 2 years with it on. It will get better
