But most importantly THANK YOU Greenskeeper.org. None of this was possible without your continued support of Greenskeeper.org over the years. The app is first and foremost for all of you. It is designed as a way you can consume the core information GK provides easier and more effectively on your mobile phones. There is a big story to tell how this app ever got this far and GK’s future platform plans which I will make forum posts about. In short, YES there will be an Android app but I don’t know yet how soon and YES the website will be updated. Let’s talk about the app!!! First off simply search Greenskeeper.org on the Apple App Store to find it. Then once downloaded upon opening the app you will see on the Sign In screen a message in text: “If you are a Greenskeeper.org member signing into the app for the first time. TAP HERE” This was done so NO ONE registering on the app can use your Greenskeeper.org username but you. An enormous amount of work was done to make that happen because the app server and Greenskeeper.org server are not connected. You’ll need to complete a very short registration form and off you go. Once in the app, please keep in mind despite years of work, this is version 1.0 – it’s by no means complete and I will making forum posts about coming features on the app. For example version 1.1 will give users the ability to edit their posts (there are some bugs with that we need to fix but it’s been intended to be part of the app all along - if you make posts now you can edit them later). Also this is not million $ technology. It’s easy to think apps should all run as fast as Facebook, Instagram, etc. because they have raised the bar so high for user experiences… however the app is still pretty fast IMO with some delay on the Near Me Newsfeed load. The app primarily works on a proximity location model to support the Golf Courses Near Me Newsfeed, Posting and Search. So please ALLOW the app to do so when you see the prompts. What happens next is amazing. Your default screen is your Near Me Newsfeed which shows you all the posts such as Turf Alerts, Reviews, Photos and Specials regarding golf courses within 50 to 60 miles of your current location. I’ll let you explore the rest! My hope is whenever you think about where you want to play you instinctively open up the GK iPhone App. Of course the app provides other services but as with all GK platforms our creed is “Know Before You Go”. However, I encourage you to make any posts about your recent golf experiences there too. Especially photos you snapped of the golf course during your round.
