Now that is what I call preparation for a round of golf. Meanwhile I'm showing up 30 min before my tee time, hitting a few balls, stroking a few putts and off I go...if that. And if I'm hungry, forget the range, grabbing a bite to eat, stroking a few putts and then hitting the first tee.

Stretching before, and sometimes after, a round is the most important thing to me. Usually at home because I need a place to lay down to stretch properly. A few putts, a few chips/pitches, maybe a full swing or two are nice but not a necessity.

It is important that you do not feel rushed, so allow time to complete this entire warm-up period at a leisurely pace. We recommend that you arrive at the course a minimum of one hour before your tee time.

I prefer to just chip and putt. I take what my back allows.

Yes, I agree, most especially on those longer drive to the course. It's good to relax and stretch and have sufficient warm up. However, on those local rounds nearby, usually a half hour would be plenty for check in, a few chips, putts and some mid irons and a couple of driver. Then check everything else: scorecard/pencil, wet towel, markers, tees, yardage device... etc. ..restroom stop? lol

Yeah, scorecard/pencil. I've been asked so many times on the second hole if I either have a pencil or a scorecard. Many places have them on the cart as expected, but not all courses.

Yes, I like to warm up before a round. But unfortunately, my "buddy", who has not yet accepted by buddy request here on GK, likes to rush off at the last-minute. So, if we carpool, there isn't time to warm up. It messes my game, I think. But when I do warm up, I get overconfident and generally play well for a few holes and then it's downhill, as usual. So, maybe I need some mental discipline and peace of mind that lasts thru the round, instead of a warm up. LOL

I totally agree. I need to have a place to lay down or stretch out on the floor. I need to rotate my back and have the support of a fairly clean, flat surface.

Also, nobody sees me in my living room. It's awkward doing this out in public.
