This is in no particular order although Riviera is #1.Riviera CC Pebble Beach Spyglass St Andrews Old Course Muirfield East Lake CC Echelon CC New Berwick GC Barona Creek Pelican Hill South I wish I had been a better golfer when I played White Columns and Golf Club of Georgia. Can't really assess them against the others although I know I enjoyed them. Same with Pasatiempo (they had just punched the greens). Edit to include the Prince Course at Princeville, Kauai. Probably in place of Pelican Hill because it is more exotic. Just loved playing toward the ocean then turning into the jungle. Fun design. ![]() ![]() Member Since: July 21, 2003 Favorite Golfer: Phil Mickelson Favorite Golf Course: DragonRidge CC ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sunday July 30, 2017 1:23 AM Had to update my list to now include Pasatiempo. 1. DragonRidge Country Club (Las Vegas, NV) 2. Kapalua - Plantation (Maui, HI) 3. Wolf Creek (Mesquite, NV) 4. Southern Highlands (Las Vegas, NV) 5. Pasatiempo (Santa Cruz, CA) 6. La Quinta - Mountain (La Quinta, CA) 7. Hacienda Golf Club (La Habra Heights, CA) 8. Ojai Valley Inn (Ojai, CA) 9. Lakeside Golf Club (Toluca Lake, CA) 10. Rustic Canyon Golf Course (Moorpark, CA) One thing this exercise made me realize is that I really skew toward the modern over the classics. While I love the classics I’ve played, I find more fun and excitement in my top 4, all of which are modern courses. Finally, while I respect the fact everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, a couple things really stand out to me on people’s lists. Nickesquire prefers Maderas to the Plantation Course at Kapalua? How can that be? Also, I see TPC Las Vegas on several lists. I know lots of GKers really enjoy that course, but it doesn’t even make my Top 10 in Nevada list. (I'd rank it 18th of the 33 Nevada courses I’ve played.) I’m not criticizing; just amused by how incredibly subjective all of this is. ![]() |
