In no order, and only places I’ve played all 18. Have been getting on notable places or nearly 20 years now and in my recollection these are the best of the best and when I played them.

Turnberry Scotland (2017)
Royal troon Scotland (2017)
Prestwick gc Scotland (2017)
National golf links of America (2002)
Winged foot west (2014)
Friars head (2008)
Plainfield cc (2003)
Maidstone club (2000)
Winged foot east (2007)
Bethpage Black (2009-2013 annually)

Close calls (no order)
Kapaula plantation (2018)
The creek (2016)
Spyglass (2010)
Hacienda gc (2018)
Fenway (2000)
baltrusol upper (2014)
Meadow brook club (2003)
Links at key biscayne Crandon Park (2003)
Old oaks ny (2003)
Atlantic City cc (2012)

What’s fascinating about my list is the number of tour sites (all 3 tours) that I don’t even consider including glen oaks on Long Island, Tpc San Antonio, sawgrass country club, tpc eagle trace, tpc jasna Polana and wykagl all come to mind as missing the cut.

Somewhere in the middle of three days of fantastic golf, Mpisarski01 asked, "so does this course make your top 10 list"? That got me thinking about this topic posted a while back. Since my original post I've definitely played some GREAT courses. So, here is a revised personal top 10

1. Pebble Beach
2. Aviara
3. Kapalua
4. Spyglass
5. Indian Wells Celebrity
6. Southern Highlands
6. Cascata
8. Spanish Bay
9. Desert Willow - Firecliff
10. Ka’anapali – Ocean

On the bubble of breaking into the top 10 are:

This is difficult mainly because as you get older you forget what the good courses you played 5 or 10 years ago were like but you remember clearly the recent ones. So I will give my Foggy Memory top 10 and then my Clear memory list:

Foggies:
Carnoustie, Turnberry, Royal Troon, Royal Birkdale, Pebble Beach, Pasatiempo, Swinley Forest, Walton Heath, Barnbougle Dunes, Lost Farm

Clearies:
St Andrews, Desert Forest, Rams Hill, Royal County Down, Sunningdale, Bandon Dunes, Bandon Trails, Royal Melbourne, Kingston Heath

OK - I fall into the "Haven't played many special courses." category so nothing particularly interesting here...
I have played 228 different courses though:

76 private or 2 hour drive or farther away courses (I call this the courses I just can't wake up and decide to play list)
38 nine hole courses
15 local 18 hole courses of executive or smaller size
99 local regulation courses

10 La Purisma
9. Ojai Valley
8. Valencia CC
7. Oak Valley
6. Indian Wells - Celebrity
5. Rams Hill
4. Conestoga
3. Wolf Creek
2. Oak Quarry
1. Aviara

The courses I find it to be an absolute treat to play, (in no particular order)..

Wolf Creek - Mesquite

Journey at Pechanga - Temecula

Aviara - Carlsbad

Grizzly Ranch - Portola

I'd play the back 9 at Sand Hollow in Hurricane again

(I'm a bit of a resort course guy) Carmel Valley Ranch and Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley

Rams Hill was a great course in a town with absolutely nothing going for it - Borrego Springs

Silver Rock in La Quinta

Desert Willow - Palm Desert

Mauna Lani North - Big Island
