Hi everyone. I will be planning a boys outing to the Reno area for next Spring, and would appreciate recommendations on the best courses to play there (public of course). We'll be there for probably five days, staying in Reno. Thanks!

Somersett GC just outside of Reno is a decent track.

Make the 1 hour drive to Grizzly Ranch! You won’t be disappointed. It’s mountain golf at its finest

I always enjoyed Lakeridge Golf Course. The 15th hole is spectacular. Both Genoa Lakes courses are great IMO. Like Eagle Valley West. Dayton Valley is a great Palmer design used for qualifying USGA events. Wolf Run is another good one. Sunridge in Carson City is another good one. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

24hour put out the list. With the exception of Somersett CC which is semi private. Golf Moose has some of these courses on special now at good values.

The spring time frame will bring the winter weather patterns into consideration, as some courses will green up quicker than others.

Therefore, Truckee courses or others with higher elevation may not be pristine in the spring. If open usually give a early season discount.

There are some great deals for Genoa Lakes if you're playing with a partner.

https://golfmoose.com/product/genoa-lakes-ranch-course/

I played their Ranch course and really enjoyed it.

I also 2nd the nomination for Grizzly Ranch and raise you a Whitehawk. If you want tough, I'll give you tough: Nakoma - The Dragon and Somerset.

Alrighty. I've done everything but put the ball on the tee for you. Now go get 'em!
