Played here 12/26 in the afternoon. Arrived a little after 1:00 and got right out as a single. Played through one twosome on the front and then caught a logjam of groups for most of the back nine. Total pace around 3 hours. $33 twilight rate with a cart. Cart path only because things were very wet after recent storms.

The course looked great in pictures because everything was so lush and green, but the playability was rough because it was so wet and muddy. Clearly, they haven't been able to mow many fairways or tee boxes this week, so things were pretty shaggy throughout. Tee boxes shaggy, but not terrible. Fairways very soft with zero roll-out and mushy lies, so really made the course play long. Rough thick and also very soft. Bunkers were actually pretty good, just not freshly raked and full of turkey/deer tracks. The greens were soft, but in pretty good shape all things considered. Rolling well at medium speeds, often faster than they appeared on downhillers.

Beyond the wet conditions, which I know to expect in Northern California in the winter, I was very pleasantly surprised with Ukiah Valley. This is a fun old course that may be a bit too funky/quirky for some. Not super long by today's standards, but very hilly with plenty of trees and some sharp doglegs. Very much a target course and often a 2-club difference on severe uphill shots like the first hole. Beautiful secluded setting with only a few houses/streets along certain sections of the course. Looked beautiful with the blue skies and green grass, even though playability was a bit rough in winter. More than interesting enough to recommend if you happen to be in this area. Not much else nearby.
