Played here yesterday as I started to make my way back home. I've always heard good things about this course from locals, so I was glad to finally check it out. I got a GolfNow time at 12:06 and it was only $30 with a cart, so that was a steal of a deal on a Saturday. They paired me with another single and sent us out early ahead of a couple foursomes. We played through a couple of slow threesomes on the front and one really, really slow fivesome on the back and finished in under 3 hours, which was nice.

The course is in pretty good shape overall. For the most part, it's nice and green and perfectly playable, but there are plenty of ugly dead/brown patches throughout the fairways, rough and tee boxes. The bunkers seemed to have a lot of debris in them, but the one I played from had good sand. The greens looked really nice. They were very soft and a tad too slow on putts, but good smooth surfaces for consistent rolls.

Most locals prefer this over Eagle Point because of the price and an enjoyable design/scenery. It's a really fun layout and the back nine especially has some great changes in elevation and excellent views. There are a few tricky holes with blind shots and local knowledge would have helped a few times. Plenty of trouble to get into with hazards, trees and long fescue, but much more forgiving than it looks from tee to green. For an out-of-towner, I'd probably recommend playing Eagle Point first as I think it's better overall, but this is another great option while in town for a cheaper round on another very good course.
