Played the Diplomat on New Year's Day as round 2 of my Florida trip. I paid the rack rate that was about $150, and unfortunately it was no where near worth it. Greens were ok, soft and a little bit bumpy, and not very fast. Fairways and rough were reasonable, although some places were dry and thin, while others a little bit wet. Bunkers were very inconsistent as well as the first couple I found were very nice, but the ones I found myself in on the back 9 were much thinner. Tee boxes were really bad, many of them were incredibly thin, and actually more dirt than grass. The layout is nice and interesting, and it is one of the few places in Florida that lets you walk. In fact, there were quite a few walkers in the groups in front of mine. The conditions, however, were a huge disappointment for the price I paid.
