Played on Saturday 5/10/2008. Arrived at 12:45 after calling and them assuring me that they could get me on as a single. They apparently had some big NCAA womens tournament on the other course but because of the tournament, they would not allow paying guests to use the range or even putting green despite the fact that both were only about 20% occupied with competitors. While waiting for my round I stepped onto the driving range to stretch and although there were a total of two of the college girls on the range, the starter yelled at me to get off. Other than that the staff was fairly nice.

The course itself is actually a pretty good design from tee to green and I was surprised by the good condition of the fairways, fairway rough and bunkers but the greens themselves are a joke. All but two of them are seperated into multiple tires by these enourmous hills right in the middle. Some of them were just missing the clown's mouth. You could literally go five feet from the hole, drop the ball from shoulder height and the ball would roll 50 feet down the hill. They were also rock hard so if you landed the ball on the top tier with anything longer than an 8-iron in could very easily skip of the back. The worst part about them was they were slow compared to the firmness. There is nothing worse than rock-hard yet slow greens.

Also, don't expect to go to this course for a relaxing round of golf in the hills. There are homes all over the course and although they don't come into play, they are not the most attractive of sights. You also have to constantly cross busy streets when going from green to tee which can get annoying.

I got to play for $45 using the West Coast Valuebook which made it a decent deal but if I had to pay full price (I believe it is $70 or so) I would have been pissed as it is nowhere near a $70 course IMO. If you can get a decent rate or can play it for free it might be worth playing but at full price, I would definitely look elsewhere. There are too many decent courses in the area.

Arrived at the course and noticed there was no ice in the ice cooler on the golf cart. I threw a sandwich and a coke I brought with me in the cooler and asked for ice. I was advised that ice is ONLY AVAILABLE to golfers who purchase 100% of their food from the course or pro shop. Another words no ice. This is the cheapest move I've seen to date by the Billy Casper organization.
Golfers bring your own ice..........................

I played the Hill Course for the first time on September 8, and really enjoyed the round. I found the course in nice condition, although there were a few soft spots like I heard described in some other posts. I liked the layout and the wide open fairways got me some confidence back with my driver. Green fees with cart and rangeballs were only $52. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The greens were in good shape and putted true, other than an unusually large amount of unrepaired ball marks. The locals need to learn to fix two on each green. I'll definately play it again when I'm in the area.

Played Lincoln Hills Sept 5 and was very disappointed. The course is in poor condition. Totally over-watered in many parts of the fairways and greens with wet sand in many bunkers even by mid afternoon in 95 degree heat. In other parts of the fairways there are barren areas that have died from lack of water and have now been punched to help the poor condition. Maintenance vehicles have left bad tire tread marks on places around bunkers and fairways that have been over-watered. In addition, the greens are way too soft, show numerous spike marks from shoes and as a result do not putt true. Our group plays this course several times a year but unless the Casper Management Group gets hold of proper maintenance for the course perhaps that may be reduced to once or not at all. It is a very good layout but the bad maintenance and poor drainage is hurting it considerably.

Just played this course on Monday (7/30/07) and it was the first time I had played here. The course has a really nice layout, and the fairways and greens look great for this late in the summer. Especially since there are little to NO trees on this course. The greens were really wet, and felt like they were a bit over watered. It is very rare that you feel like you need to chip your ball on the back of a green with a 65ft putt with a downhill lie. I played well after the first couple of greens and knowing what to expect. The other thing I didn't like about the hills course is that once you get done with the front 9 there is no clubhouse! So you need to be prepared to buy off of the cart girl, but I played after 5pm and the cart girl was gone for the day. They did throw me a couple of bottles of water on the house, which was really nice. All in all, I can't wait to play this course again, and for the price and the fact that I got 18 holes in 3hours and 15 min is awesome!! No one on the course during the week (according to the other gentlemen I played with).

Played Lincoln Hills the Hills course on 4/24. The greens had been punched the previous week, but were tolerable. Should be back soon. Fairways were not in great shape yet. Changes made by new management should be good ones.
