This was my first trip to Teal Bend. It was a hot afternoon tee time. There aren't many signs out front to tell you where to go, but once the clubhouse was found, it was fine. The course was in decent shape, but the random sprinklers and hose stretched across the holes was a bit of a pain. As luck would have it, multiple balls from myself and playing partners landed in the danger zones within reach of the sprinklers. Overall the course was fun to play. Some of the dog legs were confusing as I had never played them before, and they weren't well marked.

Teal Bend is put in a fabulous spot for a golf course. Not that there is a bad spot but, Teal is ideal. Located just off the garden highway near SMF (Sacto), Teal is rounding into excellent Spring form after aereation. The greens are rolling!

Each hole on this course is framed by Riparian boundaries that provide natural division from other holes. You only see the golfers in front of you. This characteristic puts Teal way up on my list for all courses.

Played Mon 2/11, walked on as a single, played as a foursome; 15 min wait, teed off at 10:45, finished 4 1/2 hours riding. course in decent shape, bermuda in fairways going dormant, but playable, hard, tons of roll; greens in great shape; very fast. round can be summed up in one word: MOSQUITOS! they were everywhere on the back nine, and cost me at least 2 strokes on the green. I'm scratching my legs all day today, and one on my face. good thing i wore a light jacket. all in all, a good round

Beautiful golf course. A little steep on the price but worth it. Make sure you are positioned correctly on the tee box as that makes a difference. The rough is what it says. It is rough and not a good thing to be in. You could probably add a stroke if in the rough. The traps are near perfect in their positions/lay of course. Practice on the putting green before you go out as the greens can be very fast and then slow. Quite a course and is a real enjoyment to play even for the price.

Adjacent to SAC Airport course is in good shape. Plays a little longer than markers. T shot positioning is very important. Greens and fairways in good shape. Pace of play in or at 4hr consistently. Good bargain for the Sacramento Area. Range flat and good. Food ok. Full bar but limited alcohol worth drinking.
Always a good outing. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Played Thurs 10/25, walked on as single at 11:30, 20 min to tee off, 4:15 round. This is a really nice course. Great, interesting layout, excellent conditions. Greens were a little bumpy at times, but pretty quick speed. I was surprised due to the prior reviews, i didn't expect much. I will definitely play here again.

This used to be a great course. It is still a great layout but lacks the conditions. The 45$ is way to much.

Good layout, but truly abysmal conditions from the tees up to the greens. The greens rolled reasonably true despite numerous unrepaired ball marks. Simply put, this course is currently not worth the price of admission. They need to get their a$$ in gear and get this place in shape.

Course has been hit by either a fungus and/or insect infestation that is killing grass in large areas all over the course. Recent past extremem heat has not helped.

My favorite local course! Tough winter, but recovering well. Great layout with some challenging holes. Keeping ball in fairway a must to score.

Played here on Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Overall, the course is in very sad condition and understandably so. It has rained in Sacramento for almost a month straight prior to the week of April 16. The course is pretty much covered in water and the tee boxes and greens are in terrible shape. The course should have continued their discount rates from the beginning of the month well into April.

Because the greens are full of sand, your ball bounces 15-20 times on a 10 foot putt. Also, you still can see the holes from the work over two weeks ago.

It is a waste of money to play the course right now. I would wait a few weeks to let the course dry out before coming to play here.

But if you really want to play the course, on the way to the course, be sure to check out the waterfront houses under water on your way in from the 99. It truly is a sight to see.

Greens in Excellent condition but for one GUR area on the back left of 14. Some surprisingly scrubby/barren fairways, most notably on 17 and 18. Still a very good track, but a bit steep at $64.

Nice layout, nothing spectacular, but a good golf course. The condition is not as good as it was when I last played herein 2002. The staff was friendly and the pace of play was acceptable for a weekend. There are better courses in the Sacramento area, but not a bad place to play, you should find it enjoyable.
