Was able to grab a late twilite creek card member $29 rate, teeing off a few minutes late at 2:52pm, and finishing in 4.5hrs, at just about sunset.

Course remains in very good/excellent condition from my last visit a few weeks ago. Fairways did not provide as much run-out, but did provide very good lies. Tees were good and mostly level. Rough was being actively cut much shorter at another 1" beyond the fairways, and was less penal. Around some greens, it was much longer, but was sometimes 'wispy', allowing the clubhead to get through easily enough.

Was in a few bunkers, and it was a medium-heavy. Greens were firm, held shots only OK today, and were a bit bumpy from the day's foot traffic.

Cart girl came by a few times. Great service and smiles from all staff. A good day out on a lovely 70+ degree day.

Played here today teeing off at 8:44. Perfect day and as you would expect for a Sunday, crowded. Customer service was excellent, we tee off right on time, and although we did wait on quite a few holes, still finished in 4.5 hours. Not bad for a Sunday at prime time. Tons of fun golf holes here make this a go to course and conditions are really good right now. The course is green, tees are level except for a few par three's that are a bit chewed up, bunkers were great, and the greens have recovered from punching and were semi fast maybe about 9.5 on the meter. The $100 price tag is a little steep but you are in Orange County so it could be worse. Really looking forward to returning soon especially with the great conditions and lay out. Thee range is great, we saw the cart girl 2-3 times, and the outdoor patio overlooking the course is awesome!

Received a last minute invite to play Tijeras Creek, so being so close to home and it was a freebie, a no-brainer to return. Both prior reviews were spot on, except that the greens rolled better than expected. (Maybe because I actually made few putts?) Fairways very lush and green, perhaps the best I'd seen them. Bunkers - great.

The only downside was pace of play. While it was under 4 1/2 hours, for someone who always plays super early and well under three hours, it just felt like forever. Great course in wonderful condition on a beautiful day. Really, does it get much better !

Looks like I must've been a few groups behind Slicer today. $35 public rate via their web site - teed off a few minutes after our 2:24 tee time with two other singles - both fairly new to the game, but played well enough and were fun to be around. POP was moving well, with very short waits throughout, finishing in 3hrs 50mins. A very enjoyable round on a lovely, sunny day.

Played the white tees, which as usual during the weekdays are actually placed at/with the green tee markers. Other than a crowned #18 tee, all were pretty level and with good coverage, excepting most of the par 3s.

Fairways were awesome, probably the best aspect of the course right now. Certainly have dried out nicely now, cut a day or so ago, mostly good lies and provided some tremendous run-out. Drives were about 30+ yards past my typical here, even considering the green marker starting point. Rough was cut shorter than my last visit, was lush and penal but manageable, and still very thick/dense.

Was in a few greenside bunkers, and had good luck - good medium-weight sand, about 1/2-3/4" in depth, letting you go after it.

I thought the firm greens held shots OK, but weren't very smooth in putting. Greens weren't terrible, but the ball did bounce a bit and was medium-speed for the most part. Will say they were much better than the last time I played, and seem to be getting there - still not as good as San Juan Hills, nor even Costa Mesa at this point, imho.

Though I received an indifferent greeting in the pro shop , the starter staff were fantastic. Marshal was very friendly as well, and we had some good chats. Cart girl came by at least twice.

Highly recommend TC right now. Probably the best overall condition I've seen it in the last year.

Played today at twilight for $42 senior Creek Card rate. A little pricey for a twilight member rate. POP was at 4 hours. The course is in very good condition. The fairways were nice and green. Rough was about a god 2-3" thick making your ball hard to find. Greens rolled true and med fast.

Played 3/17 at 3pm. Got through 13 holes in 4 hours before giving up. Course is a bit stuffy, employees were hit or miss with some being nice and others aloof. Conditions were great for the price paid (sub $40).

Tees: A bit chewed up in places but overall nice and flat with good coverage. 6.5.
Fairways: Great. Really the highlight of the course. 8.5.
Rough: Lush and penal. Some of the best at a public course I have seen recently. 8.
Bunkers: Was in 1 greenside and 1 fairway. Both were great with a nice depth underneath. 7.5
Greens: Medium fast and firm. Far firmer than they should be. I had wedges leaving no divot and bounding off the back on a few holes on well struck shots. I understand they were "micro punched" a week or two ago, but they look like they need a full aeration. 6.5

Overall a great public track with some kinks to work out, next time would love the finish the back nine. It would help if everyone here didn't act like they were pros. Kind of ruins the vibe when people are hacking away and then taking 15 mins to putt.

Headed down to Orange County Friday morning with a 7:28 tee time. Last day for my underpar voucher. Voucher included free replay, but they had a tournament and we weren’t able to play the second round. This course gets a ton of play so the replay round for the second round is hard to get. POP was four and a half hours, but minimal waiting, windy conditions don’t help. Tee boxes on the front needed cut, fairways were lush. Rough was rough, the way it should be, sand traps were fantastic white sand. As a side note, sand should be sand. If courses aren’t going to maintain them, let it go to a grass bunker. The greens however were not good, especially on the front. The front greens were the worst I’ve played. Customer service was great on all levels. Guy in the Proshop was a Buckeye so that was cool. They sold divot repair and ballmarkers in Michigan, but not Ohio State. He said no one wants Michigan and Ohio State sells out lol. We ate in the restaurant after. Again great customer service, but my burger was terrible. The rack rate here is $127 on Fridays which is way too much. I like the layout, but when you can go to Ventura county and play all the great courses for $40 or less I pick that anyday. I go to meet my friend in who lives in Orange County, but the golf down there is overpriced. Ventura courses don’t have all the bells and whistles, but I’m here for golf, not a fashion show.

Played TC today, joining a 3some, teeing off about 1:40pm w/POP 4hrs40mins. Paid $55 'public senior' rate via their website. CPO only on #12 (as usual) and the last 1/2 of #17 fairway. Otherwise, carts were free-range.

Course 'looked great from far' and lush on the drive in. However, conditions were slightly less desirable than expected - based on my conversation with a member of pro shop staff last week on the phone, who indicated that the greens on that day were 'fully healed' from their micro-punching 4 days earlier.

Since I know that pro shop staff never lie, are never disingenuous nor uninformed about course conditions, I can only conclude that more than 1/2 the greens have regressed in their healing / condition by their own will over the last week. Punch holes were still very visible and contributed to bumpiness on the greens today in many cases, including the first 5 greens. Greens were also soft, hairy at times, and otherwise typical afternoon poa bumpy w/foot traffic.

Tees were generally long and need a trim. Fairways were pretty good - provided good lies, but limited roll. Rough was 3-4" and very dense. Definitely a problem to get a clean, good hit and very penal. Saw grounds crew on a few holes cutting down longer parts of the rough to about 3".

Cart lady came by at least 3 times, saw the marshal a few times, both very friendly. I'd suggest giving the course about a week to further heal.

Played the front 9 late on Saturday, 2/16 teeing off a few minutes late at 3:10pm and finished in 2.5 hours. CPO for the entire course, as the rains on Thursday, etc., has made it soft and muddy in spots. Tees, fairways and rough had not been cut in probably 3-4 days, I'm guessing.

Tees OK. Fairways were very playable, but not much roll. Our 3some lost 5 balls in 9 holes in the 3-6" rough. Had to be pretty much on top of it to see it. Bunkers were real nice, good medium-weight and soft sand. Greens certainly the best part - they were cut and other than spike bumps on some of the softer areas of the greens, they rolled nicely.

Course is very green and lovely. However, if you're thinking of playing in the coming days before a sustained dry spell lingers over the area, suggest calling to see when they have last cut the rough and fairways and if they are still CPO before committing $.
