One more thing.....9 does not go back to the clubhouse. I think the food is after the 8th hole. I did not see an advertisement on the very good GPS for food so we missed it.

Played 9-13 at 9am with my son. 4:45. Valet parking if you want or just make use of the bag drop. Cart guys very helpful and will cart your bags. Water included in ice chests on the cart. Great practice facility, on grass range lots of balls included. They make 10 minute announcements to get you to the first tee on time. Greens were a little slow but rolled well. No bare spots in the fairways and the ball sat up well. Couple of wet spots but nothing that affected play. Front side much easier than the back. Back is longer, more water and traps. Don't be afraid to play the whites here. Blues had 2 par fours over 470 and a par 5 at 625yds.

Course is beautiful right up against the mountains. I booked my time on the courses web site which was the same price as GolfNow but the fee was cheaper. My boy plays a two day tournament at the end of the month. I will report back on conditions after that tournament.

Played at 9:30 am. Course was busy but they kept things organized and moving. Super fun course at good price. Can be unusually long from all tees. Play the tee with the slope you are used to playing. This was my favorite of the 4 courses I played over the weekend. Decent grass practice facility, balls included. The starter and range are away from the clubhouse a ways. You do pass the club house again on #8. 2 water bottles are provided with a cooler full of ice. There are plenty of places to fill up your bottles out on the course. I wil definetly go back.

Liked the course, played the blue tees at 7100 yards. The distance wasn't a huge issue, but the 625 yard par 5 was playing straight into a strong wind (I consider myself a long hitter and I was still 100 out with a good drive and crushed 3 iron). The greens were firm but rolled good, the breaks were tough to read. The Customer Service stunk, I booked a $30 twilight special rate on their site the night before from my hotel room, wrote down the confirmation number (couldn't print it because I was at a hotel), when I got to the shop he charged us $39 a piece I argued with him and the guy told me I was wrong they don't offer a $30 rate. We had to pay the $9 extra each, when I got back to the room I checked my email and the rate was $30 bucks.

Bring your A game, and make sure you play from the tee's you play from at you course... Check your slope rating and play from the tee's close to yours...

All I can say "Silverrock" is one of the BEST value for golf in the desert. I am very lucky to get to play this course on a weekly basis, and all the staff are excellent, and very helpful, from the time you drive up, the staff is there for you to enjoy your day... It is one good test of your game.. You can't fall asleep, it will beat you up... MY ONE TIP TO ANYONE THAT COMES TO PLAY, MAKE SURE YOU PLAY FROM THE TEE'S THAT YOU PLAY FROM AT YOUR HOME COURSE... NOT THE COLOR OF THE TEE'S BUT THE SLOPE... There is plenty of sand and waste bunkers, and then off to the sides there is crush granite, dark tan, and it can mark your clubs, so I have a desert club for hitting out of those areas... The couse is in transition right now, and the greens at at 75% recovered, the fairways are still wet, but we are in the middle of the summer. You will enjoy you time at Silverrock 41/2 hrs per round...

The links style course played really well and tough with some holes tougher than tough. Definitely one of the big boy's course and therefore will make you think of just about every shot and placements, but it is within reason and can be very playable if you've played it enough times.

Bring an "A" game here.

Great course! I see why the pros average score was higher at SilverRock than the other courses in the Hope rotation, tough course. Demanding second shots to most all greens. The greens are impecable! Smooth and fast. This course is a must play for me and should be for you!

WOW!!!! I will play this golf course every time i go to the desert. Have played many of the high end privates and publics in the desert and prefer to play SilverRock. The superintendent is amazing, to have that many golfers playing the course everyday its a wonder how he keeps it in such great shape. I felt like I was putting on a Brunswick. ABSOLUTLY UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

This is a difficult course, make sure you play the right tees as this club has not marked them like most. Blue here plays like black tees. The course is a great layout, but I suggest that you not play when they have cartpath only in place here, because the gps system is a must to navigate this course. Expect to pay top dollar to play a round here, where your score will be much higher than at your home course. THE ONE BIG NEGETIVE ABOUT THIS COURSE IS THE NATIVE AREAS THEY USE INSTEAD OF ROUGH. THESE AREAS HAVE BEEN FILLED WITH GRAVEL TO PLAY AS GIANT SAND TRAPS. HITTING OUT OF THESE AREAS CAUSES DAMAGE TO YOUR CLUBS.

Great course! plays pretty long but landing areas are large. Looks more daunting off the tee than it really is, but don't get me wrong there is trouble everwhere! Premium on approach shots, well protected greens. Great views, very good conditioning for a Desert location at the end of a hot summer! Customer service top notch. This course is 1st class all the way!

Great course. Must play. Although it was 114 out did not even notice the heat. Course was all you can handle. 7700 yards from silver and 7100 blues. Each hole is different. Sixteen needs a little work with the mountains cart path and water down left side leaves no room... Playing Bob hope next year there. Great price in summer, 65$$. Also has gps on carts Ill post some pics

Very good experience...When you have a golf course of this caliber, about the only thing you can do to put it over the mark is customer service. We had a guy come out handing out ice cold towels about the 9th hole....Awesome touch of service. The course was in really great shape, play was open...Even though we were playing in 111 degree weather, the course and the customer service made you forget.

We expected a great golf course and our expectations were exceeded. The course was in excellent condition. The greens were the best I've ever putted on. All putts rolled straight and smooth. The traps had coarser sand than most courses (sort of like small pebbles) which reduced the spin out of bunker shots. Unfortunately I was in a few of them. Other than that, the traps were in great condition. Even the native desert areas were neatly raked; this sort of detail we weren't expecting.

The layout was very challenging. Take plenty of balls if you don't hit your tee shots straight. Water comes into play on many of the holes. We played from the whites since we were warned this was a tought course, and even then we had a tough time. However the smoothness of the greens made it easier to putt from long distances. I had a personal record number of one putts. Customer service was excellent. We were given ice cold water bottles at the start and end of our rounds. The marshall even brought us cold towels in the middle of the round.

Overall had a great time and highly recommend it. This has to be one of the top two courses I've ever played in both condition and layout.

Played on June 2nd in the morning. The greens were not in the greatest shape. Very thin coverage and the outside 3-4 ft of the green had been aerated. The course if fairly flat and beware, there is no shade anywhere. Its is a good test of your golf skills, especially your approach shots. The greens were hard so it was tough to hold your shot. Also, beware of the "native" areas, instead of sand/dirt they are covered with crushed granite. If you dont pick it clean you wont get out. As far as amenities are concerned the course needs to do a little more to justify the $115/rd green fees (in June!). Each of the golf carts was fitted with an cooler and a couple of bottles of water but there was no ice to be found on the course. I wouldnt normally complain about that but for $115 you would think they would install ice dispensers at their comfort stations. Also, they are not well set up for grabbing lunch at the turn. Number 8 is actually the hole that finishes at the clubhouse but the cart path takes you straight away down number 9 with no easy access to the clubhouse or snackbar. Overall we had a good experience but you can find better golf for a lot less money elsewhere in the area.

Course is perfect except for the large pebbles in some of the sand traps, I do not understand why they are there, they mess there your clubs up and your ball just sinks into them...impossible to hit out of. Other than that small detail, this course is a must play.

Played this course Fri. 3/30. Was in nearly perfect shape except for the condition of the bunkers on 1-6. I was told by the Pro that they are using heavier, larger pebbles in these traps due to blowing wind emptying the traps. Otherwise, a great course.

Played this first on my trip. Should have played it last when I had my game going. Tough course to start on. Layout and design were excellent. Some very beautiful and challenging holes. It truly is a visually stunning course in great condition. Course can be very hard. Some blind shots and tons of huge penalizing bunkers. Really did enjoy the course very much and definetley would go back.

Wow!! First time playing a desert course, so obviously felt really spoiled. What a beautiful layout. The course was excellently maintained. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful from the time we arrived to when we finished the round and "unfortunately" had to leave the course. Will definitely try to play more desert courses, especially this one.

For a new golf course in the Coachella Valley, I was very impressed with the condition of the course. The greens were nearly perfect as well as the fairways and other playing areas. The golf course lies at the base of the local mountains which makes for an absolutely spectaular view and backddrop. I would definetly recommend this course to anyone coming out to the desert .....it is a MUST PLAY! Also, I found the staff there to be very courterous and professional; everyone seemed to enjoy working there and it showed. Good Job SilverRock....keep up the good work!

I played Silver Rock on 12/8/2006 and was not dissapointed. The desert has become my favorite place to play, and up to this point, I would say Silver Rock has jumped up to the top of my list. We played from the blues and the course was playing at longer than 7,100 yds.(tips are 7,500+), but the course does provide 6 or 7 seven different box selections, so it can be enjoyed by all skill levels. First and foremost, the scenery is breathtaking. The course runs along the base of the mountains which gives it a unique intimate natural feel unlike any other course that I have personally played.
This course is a difficult course, and you definitley need to bring your "A" game to score well, but it's fair. You won't encounter gimicks to create difficulty, it's layed out well, and just makes you put together good shots in order to beat it.
If you're planning a golf outing in the desert or just looking for a solid round; make Silver Rock a must...

It is a beautiful course.Too bad the marshall doesn't have a clue.
Showed up a 1/2 hr early for our (2 some)tee time and not a soul on the box. Told us to go back to range & he'd call us. Came when called & he still sent us out as a 2some behind a very slow 4some- the kind playing for big stakes at everyone else's expense AND a 3some which had some young kid whining & sniveling while playing from the very back boxes & no way near that hndcp! He was lucky to make any green whatsoever.Needless to say, we didn't finish w/ a 11:50 tee time. Hopefully, they'll start having marshalls giving players advice on which tee boxes to play from- I don't mind! This is as everyone is pointing out a very tough course- so play within your ability and enjoy a very beautiful and challenging course.

Played Silverrock Fri 11/10/06 at 7:15am. WOW! What a course! My favorite course & round of six over four days, despite cart path only and wet conditions just a couple days after re-openning following overseeding. Paid $115 primetime and was definately worth every penny. Course is gorgeous, running up close to and along the side of the mountains, creating depth-perception issues on some holes. Course is very long too, from all tee boxes. And the track is full of huge sand traps and waste areas to boot. So yes it's a tough play, but it's a fun challenge and extremely interesting, scenic, and exciting course to play. The fairways are very wide and forgiving, if you find them instead of all the sand. The greens as well are very large, although undulating, but in fine shape and roll true, if you don't find the sand surrounding the greens. Did I mention the course is chock-full of sand and desert waste areas?! Largest sand traps I've ever seen! I wouldn't want to play here in the wind - too long, too hard, too much sand in your eyes! This course will only get better as it grows up too, and will be a gem for a long time to come. A great challenge, a beautiful desert course - highly recommend.

WOW!! great Golf course!! I am traditionally hard on the new courses that bill themselves as the best thing around, but this place is fantastic. This course has it right - A golf course can be tough and playable at the same time - Cross Creek needs to take from this model.

I played at 8:30 AM on a Sunday behind a really slow group and still played fairly fast and the discounted green fee of 55 bucks was a steal for this course. This might be the best course in the Palm Desert Area - for sure the best I have played out there, and I have played a lot of courses out there.

Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!!!!

This was the second time I have played this course and it is beautiful. I am a 18 handicap and play the desert courses for the pure enjoyment that these courses give a golfer even in the summer. This is one of the best and I have played most of the big name courses. The course is difficult with lots of bunkers and alot of natural terrain. Would recomend it highly! we payed $40.00 per player with cart that has gps in August. Conditions were great.

1st time i ever played this course. It was 118 the humidity was horrible. But that course was amazing. Greens as fast as glendora c.c and the played true. Longer than Los Serranos South Course. Bring your A game cause you'll need it. Watch out for hole 12...pure muscle...648 par 5 into the wind.

Would I play this course again... Hell yea i have a tee time next week.

Oh Also the green fee of $55 is worth it, well worth the heat.

If you can't take the heat stay off the course...

Great course, but can get really windy. Because of the native environment around the area (yea, I'll hit in there on ocassion), it's reallly rough to get out of it if you're expecting fine sand. Even a fair number of the actual sand traps were almost hard as rock. Better to just hit a clean shot in those cases. Just depends on the trap you're in at the moment.

This course is absolutely incredible! Top notch all the way. Played it on February 14 for $85 twilight rate. Conditions were perfect. Fast greens, immaculate fairways, perfect tee boxes, best GPS out there and great service! Played at 7100 yards (used to playing blue tees), but added length wasn't that big of a deal. The scenery on the course is amazing. If you want a great challenge and love to be catered to, this is your course.

This course is a real test of your game and your ego. If you fall asleep on a shot, say hello to a double bogey. The course has a variety of different type holes and is very interesting from all sets of tees. Most f the holes have generous driving areas, but tough approach shots. My only disappointment with the course is that I believe the greens are not undulated enough. I like lots of double and triple breaks, but they are well conditioned and smooth and fair. I wonder if they were purposely designed with the Hope tournament in mind so as to make it more tv friendly when the pros knock in those thirty footers. Great facility, which will only improve as clubhouse and hotel are built. By the way, only one or two holes parallel another so you get that true golf experience that seems to be fading into the sunset on the modern courses. Arent you all sick of seeing condo lined fairways? This is worth every cent.

7 AM tee time Sunday the 18th,around 70 degrees ,very nice golf course, $75 green fee, soon my guess is to be a $150 round. They plan to be in the Hope rotation, needs a lot of work to get there but maybe will happen by 06. We averaged about a 9 hdcp and played the whites, usually we play blues and we are happy we didnt here. Whites are all ya need or want unless you are maybe a 5 or lower. Staff was OK, no liquor license yet, Another 18 holes and clubhouse are underway. Course is terrific, fun, some holes are easy, fun, then look out, long par 4s with lake on one side and channel or desert on the other, We liked the setup as it allowed a wide area for tee shot and narrowed down for approach. Greens were fast.some had a little damage but not in the way. We will return before priced out of sight. We reccomend getting there soon,as this will be a regular on the Hope rotation.

This was my first time on the course and we played from the tips. This course is very impressive and demands precise approach shots. Greens are heavily bunkered and expect to play difficult long sand shots. Fairways are fine, but waste areas are having drainage problems. There are workers everywhere and the problem is being corrected. Feel fortunate that first time players get relief from some of these areas. You re going to need it. If you play the tips, you had better be a long hitter because of long carries required over water and sand. Greens are not difficult, but well protected. This course will be one of the very best in California in a very short while. If you like a fair, but difficult course, this is the one.

Fairly new course that hasn’t fully grown in yet. Greens were still very firm. Some drainage issues related to heavy rains last winter. Visually intimidating course uses lots of waste areas and water that must be avoided; some waste bunkers and sand traps are deep, and the sand is soft. Back nine has some lengthy par 4s; this course demands that you hit a long, straight tee ball. No rough – you’re either on the grass or in the desert – waste areas were either hard as a brick (hardpan) or soft and fluffy in areas where maintenance vehicles drove. Overall course condition was good. Needs more drinking water on the course (esp. in summer!). Another course planned here in the future, and no residential (but some hotels, shops, etc.). In a couple years, course condition should be better.
