This course is what it is but with the conditions and improvements they have made going to give them a shout. Conditions are the best I have ever seen here, fairways are green and lush. Rough is full and somewhat penal if you get greedy. The course is just 6100 yards from the tips but they have really tried to improve things here. Greens are medium in speed and hold shots well. Being that this is Cresta Verde you will find plenty of unrepaired ball marks but even with this the greens are above average with a fair amount of break. They do still have problems lack of grass on a few of the fairways lets say the 15th and 18th but over all good conditions. Big problems with the bunkers, hard and very little sand at best, with several having grass growing and most with more than average amount of rocks.
For 27 dollars anytime, includes cart you cant beat the price in this location. They have dropped a fair amount of money to improve on conditions and speaking with clubhouse today more money is coming to improve the bunkers. Driving range in need of newer balls, and only mats. Practice green is small and suits the purpose at this time. Again it wont knock your socks off but its a fun little track great course for iron work,

First time out to this course. Read the last review on it by Sixpez and decided to give it a whirl. Pretty decent little track.... * Staff - one of the friendliest groups I have encountered since picking up golf. * Fairways - pretty good, overwatered in my opinion in the morning round, but much better later on * Rough - thick and fluffy and the balls just settle down it, so it can be somewhat punishing. * Bunkers - thin, but playable, some weeds * Greens - small, slow in morning with all the watering, but a little quicker in afternoon. the green on #5 was probably the worst. *Tee boxes - mostly okay, there are a few that are just sad....I almost wish they wouldn't even put a tee box in the pure dirt like they had. I noticed one outhouse on the course and that was it....so plan accordingly. Carts had enough juice to easily handle 2 rounds...that was nice....no GPS or anything, your basic cart. $12 replay - now THAT I enjoyed!!!! First round I played with a fellow GKer I got paired with . His name is Neal, nice guy, made the round all that much much more enjoyable.

Played a quick afternoon round out here. Was looking for something cheap and relatively convenient, so Cresta Verde fit the bill with a $10 GN hot deal at 1:36. I got there early and was teeing off by myself at 12:45. Never saw anyone on the front nine, but ran into a threesome on the 10th tee (pretty sure they started on the back). They seemed determined not to let me play through for some reason, so I enjoyed watching them rush around as I purposely crowded up on them a bit. To their credit, they did play rather quickly and I still finished all 18 in about 2.5 hours. I was intrigued by the last review which actually gave the course some positive marks, and I must say they've definitely made some significant improvements around here since the last few times I played (maybe 7-8 years ago) when it was "Crusty-not-so-Verde." The most noticeable improvements are in the fairways for the majority of holes. They look and play nicely with fairly well-kept kikuyu turf. There are still a few problem holes, mainly the stretch of 5-8, which has always been pretty brutal for them to grow and maintain good grass. The 15th has always been a rough one in the past, but it now has ample grass coverage. However, with some low spots on that hole it has created some soggy/muddy stretches. The tee boxes (blues) were a mixed bag. Some were excellent. Some were terrible. The rough was also inconsistent. Again on the holes with nicer fairways, the rough coverage also seemed more lush and green, getting spottier as you neared the outer edges. On the weaker holes, the rough was correspondingly worse. The greens were super soft and obviously left a little shaggier in the heat of summer, so they were a bit bumpy and slow. Good, lush coverage, but inconsistent speeds and surfaces, so I couldn't give them a super high rating. I wasn't in any bunkers, but they still looked pretty poor from what I could see. They have a long, long way to go before this can be considered a "nice" course and it will probably never get much respect with so many better options around, but it is good to see the improvements they have made to many of the fairways here. The current management seems to be doing something right even with the drought restrictions in effect. The layout will always be rather quirky, but kind of fun in its own way. The price today was hard to beat and it was nice to get out there and around the course quickly, so it holds some appeal when I just want to go out and hit some little white balls around.

SURPRISE!!, I guess it's been about 3 years since I was last here and quit because it was in terrible shape. What a difference. Course is lush and green. Greens were smooth and consistent, fairways green and ball sat up real nice. Variations in the rough, some nice lies to get out of and some you just had to hit and hope. I was in one bunker and it had sand. I may just have to play here a little more often now. Keep up the good work.

There is not much to say about the course in terms of praise, but seemingly they get a little better each time I visit almost every six months, or maybe I'm getting used to it. There are large areas and mostly on the 17th without grass. Teeing grounds that are less than acceptable at times. All bunkers are grounds under repair- it has been like this since I started playing this course 2 or 3 years ago. The greens are the only thing good going about the course it self- they are soft, but mostly smooth. The staff are great and might I add the breakfast burrito was good.

I did not have high expectation based upon past history, but despite the rather ragged conditioning, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Maybe it was because the greens were so much better than I had anticipated, they were actually good, and received the shots extremely well.

Lots of bare spots all over the round, both fairways and roughs. Bunkers are all under "ground under repair They no longer exist ! Tee boxes, (I played them from the markers) and they were bare, not level, and really torn up.

I guess because I did not expect much I was not all that disappointed. The staff was perfect and was able to get out first and our twosome played a nice easy pace of under 2 1/2 hours. (In a cart) Beautiful weather, a very pleasant way to spent an October morning

The staff at Cresta Verde is nice and had us through to our pre-round warm-up very quickly. The course is in decent shape. The tee boxes are not great but you can find somewhere to tee off from. The fairways were okay as well. They weren't lush but they played true. Bunkers are non-existent. They have signs in them for you to take a free drop. I know sand is pricey. Finally the greens were somewhat bumpy, slow and inconsistent. For the price it was reasonable and I hope they can continue to remain open and provide somewhere for golfers to play for less then $40 on a weekend. My round would have been more enjoyable if the fivesome of men's clubbers would have moved along a little quicker but they play there more than I do so I'll give them a pass.
