Tuesday & Thursday tourny with friends from all over the US. They loved the course, staff was as always perfect. Course is in pristine shape, I was a little worried as the Lakes course is closed for new greens and other rehab. But, They have kept up the desert course and everything was just right. I always highly recommend this place on the way to Vegas or Mesguite or stopping at Primm. The $$$ problems were evident, we had the place to ourselvess,, not the usual for Primm. A must play at least once...

h8bogeys - Review by Hate Bogeys
Played the Desert course for a weekend golf tournament. The course was in great shape, the weather was beautiful (probably broke 90 with a slight breeze). This was a shotgun tournament scheduled at 7:45 a.m., but we ended up teeing off until almost 8:30 due to another concurrent shotgun tournament being held by another group on the Lakes course.

The fairways were immaculate and were rolling beautifully! Most holes I teed off with a 3 iron or 3W because they balls was rolling so long after its carrry. I reached almost all par 5s in two and had several opportunities for eagle but the course's defense were the fast greens.

The greens had several shelves, undulations, and you had to be very imaginative to try to lag putt close to the hole and avoid the dreaded 3-putts which I found many times during my round. I would rate the course a 9.5 right now, but I'm not sure how the Bermuda greens will hold with this upcoming summer heat. Highly recommended course!

Played tournament at Primm this past weekend. 2 man scramble tournament. The service was great, stopped at entrance where a greeter asked for my tee time or reservation, asked if I left my clubs overnight, which I did, and directed me to parking. Starters and cart people had all of us set up to start play or to get warmed up. We had balls at the range, practice green was real slow, punched and sanded.

Starter informed us that the greens were in better condition than the Lakes course, they were punched two weeks earlier than Lakes course. Asked us not to go into ESA unless ball was in plain sight and close to cart path. Faiways were lush, greens were fast. Bunkers were a bit on thin side. Cart girl came around every 45 minutes, marshals kept cruising by and informed us when things were slowing up, asked a fousome in our tourney to speed up, which was good. Finished in 4.75 hrs, very good for a tourney.

I would rate the course and staff a solid 9.

Played on 2/18/08 - the Desert course was in good shape, the greens were fast and the fairways were great. They were doing a lot of work on tee boxes. There were 4 tee boxes where all 4 of the colors were up on the front tee box (womens). Other than that the course was in great shape for this time of the year. I would reccomend playing this course. As usual the service was good and the practice facilities were great. Played the course in about four hours, which was good for that day.

I suppose it's not fair to judge a course in the middle of nowhere so harshly in the middle of the winter. But, they still charged me over $100, so I'll give them a true review.

They are in the midst of a considerable amount of maintenance, at least on the desert course, and it will impact your play. nearly every tee area has stakes (I'm not entirely sure what they're up to), and several of the bunkers are torn up. The greens were shaggy and slow. I played Canyon Gate the next day, and can tell you that the difference in greens speed was HUGE!

Cart meets you at your car in the parking lot, which is nice, and the people in the clubhouse seem nice. The starter I had today was just ok. The ranger refused to tell a 4-some to catch up with the group in front, because "technically they're on time". This made play for my 3-some unbearable, since the 4-some were obviously playing for serious dough. (They had to be, do you REALLY plumb EVERY stinking putt?) So, the back nine wasn't as fun once we started waiting 5 minutes on every shot.

The fairways are tight, but green. Overall, probably still worth the $110 stay-n-play package, but probably not a "4.5 star" visit, at least this time of year.

Played late morning on Saturday, 12/15/2007, on a calm sunny but cold day. Some delays this morning due to frost on the greens, and freezing nite temps mean that the greens are fairly wet on top and hard an inch down. So soft surfaces mean greens hold and give you lots of backspin. Course was in very good condition thruout. Much of the surrounding areas were being relandscaped or converted to more 'desert'. Good pace. Cart girl came by often. Rangers kept play moving. Always recommended.

Desert course is open, but maybe it shouldnt be. Greens are terrific, fairways are torn up, rough is really torn up, BUT, the course is still fun to play. Staff is as always great. They sorta upset me this time, $80 in the heat to play a semi torn up course is not a happy thing to me. Lots of other venues to choose from. But, they dont care, most of their business is out of towners, far out of towners. The Lakes course is closed and the Desert soon will be. I wouldnt recomend either till maybe November. They will be excellent then.

One of my favorite courses and an annual dec trip with buddies. Played Tue 26th and the Desert course was in good shape. Greens were slower than normal but still rolled true and fairways were not in the best shape as I have seen them immaculate before. We were routed to the desert course as most players were on the lakes course which is an easier course(edge of fairways roll drives back to middle of fairway and a shorter course). I was humbled on the desert course from the back tees(7100 yard course with many par 3's 210+ yards and a 74.2 rating). Staff are great at Primm and I would encourage the golfers that are headed to sin city to stop in for a round. We wanted to play Lakes course today on way home but weather did not agree. Keep up the maintenance Primm and great customer service.

Played Sunday 10/29 noon walk on. I love these courses, everything is just as it should be,, fast smooth greens , great, fairways, bunkers that make you avoid them, fun and not toooo hard. All in all a very nice way to spend the afternoon. If the folks at Primm read this, its time to trim the palms, and the trees in the parking lot need help also. The place is beautiful, cant figure out why they are letting the trees and palms get ragged. BUT !!! The golf course is in TERRIFIC shape.

Played Monday, first off as a 2 some,, 3 hr round,a great day, we had cloud cover so the heat was not a problem, lucky,,, course is in great shape as usual, again fun to come to a nice track where the staff treats ya like they are glad to have your business. The boss should be complimented. The course is green and the greens are in great shape. Bunkers were being worked on as we played. Lots of workers on both courses. I dont care if they put me on the desert or the Lakes. One of the best practice facilities anywhere,as good or better than PGA in Beaumont.

Although I prefer the Lakes course I give the Desert a roll every now and then. No dissapointment here, course plays like a typical desert course, target golf. Some very narrow holes, and some wide open holes and plenty of desert shrubbery everywhere. course plays hard and fast, 3 iron off the tee is a good bet on many a hole out here, as a nice burner will travel in the 230 240 range, and keep you out of the shrubbery! One in our group hit driver on every tee, and was on a nature expedition all day, by the back nine his legs were cut up and bleeding in multiple spots!!! Greens have a bail out area on just about every hole, which I think makes this couse play a little easier than the lakes. Super fast Greens.

Havent been here for a few months,, happy to report that the greens are almost back to perfect, fairways are green and in great shape and staff as usual treats ya like a member. Played 4/18, kinda windy, its the desert, ya might get wind once in awhile. Stay at a MGM property, Stateline or Vegas and get a good package. I will always do Primm when in town.

This course is one of the overall best courses I've played at. It starts the moment you pull up to the club house with excellent customer service from all the employees. The club house is top notch for a public course, very clean, and comes with all the ammenities one can want and need. The driving range is complimentary with your round and you hit off of grass (not the usual mat) and it's all set up for you. The course itself is very nice and challenging at times. Comes with many par 5s & 4s and a couple of long par 3s. I would highly recommend trying this course out if you'll be visiting. It's worth the green fee.

Layout was fantastic. Very well thought out and designed course with some great character holes. Found the condition of the course a little weak for what they are charging. Tee boxes were very shaggy, greens were all brown and fairways did not seem as lush or thick as you would hope. Wind was horrendous on our day but my partner and I did enjoy the round. Would definetley return, but not for full price. Would like to try lakes to see the contrast.

Played 1/9,first group off, our group was a threesome, all singles all around a 10 hdcp, what a fun day. Played in 3 1/2 hours, did not hurry, all played well, I shot my best ever for Primm ,steady play does make for better golf, I think. Desert course was as usual in almost perfect shape, I will play either Lakes or Desert, makes no difference as both are fun and in great shape. Staff is trained to make you feel like you are the owner, sure you tip them, but ya feel good about it as they earn it. greens were excellent. A great start to a 4 dayer in Primm and Mesquite.

Played back in March; course was in fantastic condition and the weather actually cooperated. We only got a little rain and no wind. There are some tight driving holes, but all in all, this is a very fair course. This course is a good test of golf from tee to green. Of the two courses at Stateline, to a man, our group liked the Lakes Course better than the Desert Course; but you can't go wrong with either one. The facilities are top notch and the Pro Shop Staff was very cordial.

Played at 8AM on Saturday, 10/29. I’d heard good things about Primm and was not disappointed – course was in great condition after recent overseeding, greens were receptive and rolled well. Many holes visually pleasing, and everything breaks towards the freeway. Plenty of water provided, course rangers were out watching pace, and the beverage cart came by frequently. Overall a great experience – highly recommended.

I prefer the desert course but both are excellent. They should be in perfect condition in another couple of weeks. Great scenery, excellent greens and challenges of all different variety of shots. Just two very well thought out courses.

Would prefer this course over the Lakes. Native land makes it tuff. Fairways seem to be alittle more forgiving. Course provides many holes with nice scenary. Greens were in alot better shape than the Lakes.

Greens in nice shape and very receptive. My only complaint with the course is overwatering of fairways made for a muddy lie on most approach shots and chips.

I really enjoyed the Desert Course. This was the first time I played at Primm Valley, and was pleasantly surprised. It is amazing they are able keep this course in such great/lush condition, even during August, in the middle of the desert. I would definitley play here again...and again!

I play here usually going or coming from Vegas when I have to due to work reasons. Both courses are great with totally different feels. Both are equally enjoyable. The Lakes course is not like many in the Vegas area so it tends to get more attention, but I like the desert course just as much. Since I usually am travelling alone a great tip is to just drive up and ask to get on. Last year the walk up rate was $55, which is a great deal. Always got on no problem, have done this 6-7 times. Play one coming and the other going or vise versa!

I ran a 16-man tourney here - the place was loved by all of us - and we've been everywhere from Scotland to Scottsdale together! Highest rating!! Staff is awesome!! Short drive to Vegas - and the casinos locally are not Liked both courses - as different as two courses can be and be on the same land!! Greens were not really bright green (kind of burnt looking) - but fast and putted true!! 5-stars!!

see my comments on Primm Lakes, the desert course is just as cool and fun as the Lakes, not much rough,a typical desert set up. Fun course, in terrific condition.
