Played this course as a threesome booked last minute Sunday for $40 since Ken McDonald Golf Course (municipal at Tempe was out of carts and instilled a quite rude demeanor in us visitors) ran out of carts. The course parking lot approaches the clubhouse and pro shop that are both quite aged easily enough to find the club drop. The cart barn guys were available and had washed/sanitized the carts (unlike Ken McDonald, okay I'll stop) and prepped the round for us. The check-in was simple, no CDC guidelines for COVID-19 surprisingly but I don't necessarily mind myself.

The course (which I also played in early March) is in declining shape heading into the summer months. The tee boxes had grass, yes...with plenty of divots even on Par 5s. Some weren't leveled perfectly and it became more noticeable as I walked up to the tees my partners were playing (White tees) in comparison to the tips. The fairways were trimmed rather nicely, no aesthetically pleasing trim lines or anything but overall led to a nice platform to hit my approach shot. To note, the rough and fairways bled into each other often times where the only difference didn't seem to be as the architect designed the rough to start much rather where the greenskeepers decided to stop cutting for fairway length. The greens were the best part of the day, which is not to say they were the purest carpet you could find. There were ample pitch marks on some greens however for the majority it was good enough to make putts. The back nine was definitely better than the front nine's greens somehow.

This course's strategy lends itself to lower scores for even the high handicapper. Houses line most if not all the holes and there isn't many blind tee shots. I counted about two tee shots where I needed previous playing experience to hit the appropriate line. I wouldn't come here consistently taking into account where I live...but sure. If you live in the Ahwatukee Foothills and nearby within per say 5 miles...it's a golf course that's open right now.

I will never play this course again. Horrible place of play , teed off 20 minutes after schedule time(which we were charged a booking fee for), get to the 3rd hole it was back up 3 groups, Ranges advises us it will open up on the back 9. Greens in horrible shape, bare spots galore. I have been in Arizona for 25 years, pay 50-60 rounds a year, and this was my worst golf experience ever. Me and my group walked off after 9, we will never ever play this course again golf.

To be fair, the fairways were in very good condition Sunday. Carts are requested to stay out of the fairways still and stay on what passes for cart paths and the rough. There is a decent driving range and a putting green is located right next to a very busy street.

Tee boxes are fair. Oddly, there are two sets of White (middle) tees: one for members, and one for the rest of us, I guess. Rough is either patchy grass, dirt or bark. While some bunkers appear to have usable sand in them, most look like they can be putted out of. Greens, despite the recent overseed, are splotchy, with many dried out areas on most greens, and anything but a high pitch shot will run and often off the green. For some reason, they have removed all the ball washers from the course, so come prepared. As one of the lesser priced alternatives in the SE valley, this course gets a lot of play in the winter-time, but I'd hate pay anything above what GN charges; paying full rack rate here anytime is probably not your best value.

Played here last Saturday 02-16-13 and booked through Golfhub for a 1:00 tee time. When I got there, their system have us at around 1:15 instead. Played on their practice area where you can do some chipping and putting at the same time. Practice area is ok, but very close to the road about just a couple of yards away, where its a very busy street. And crazy golfers tries to chip and get their golf balls on the road. risky!!! Anyway, almost our time but i notice that there were no one announcing or even checking/looking for players for their time slots?? but we were just told to go over the 10th tee instead to start. There were NO SIGNS visible even to go to then 10th tee to begin with, but we got lucky and found our way there. When we got there, there were no marshalls or nobody to assist, and no one on the fairway. So we assumed it's ok to proceed for it's already our time. We teed off, then came another group wiuth the same time slot as we have??? We moved on for we already were out there and just a 3 some. Fairways are in bad shape, and all the greens were in the same condition. The layout of the course is really nice, and you can really use your Driver if your a big hitter and teast your skills to the max, if only it's well maintained. Not a lot of markers on the fairways as well to follow. For the price, it's not worth it, and I would rather play Legend At Arrowhead for the same price and a much better condition, with GPS included. I would never come back to this course again.

The course was in bad shape when I played it last Feb 16, 2013. The greens were bumpy, the rough was dry and cut to the ground. There was no rough area that I noticed. For the price we paid for the course, we could have played at a different course and get triple the enjoyment and better service.

I played this course on 4/6/12. I was very disappointed in the condition of the course for this time of year (really for any time). This is an older course and used to be a great place to play. Now it has many dead spots and dirt showing everywhere. Visually the course looks ugly and run down. The greens were so hard , I hit a high trajectory iron shot on #2 that hit in the middle of the green and it bounced so high it landed in someones front yard across the street from the course. Some bunkers had no sand and some had a heavy sand , gravel and dirt mix. I hit second shots out of mud and of hard dirt , both times from what was the middle of the fairway. There was no rough , it was either bare dirt , wood chips or dead grass. There were two fivesomes in front of us that kept the pace slow at times. They did send someone out twice to try and speed up play. But I don't know how a course can book back to back fivesomes and it expect them to play at a good pace. The course layout is about the only positive.

Played ACC Sat 2/01 twilight time. Course is a lot more dried out than any other course I've seen in the valley, and a lot of bare areas, too. Greens were in decent condition, sand traps were mostly hard and could be putted out of. The biggest problem, though, was the rate of play .....s.....l.....o.....w. Took over 3 hours to complete the front nine, barely made it to 11 before calling it quits due to darkness. When it's packed, they cannot allow walkers on the course, or 5-somes, both of which were here in abundance. Doubt I'll play here again until summertime.
