An email Saturday morning from the course for weekend play promoted $45 from 2 pm, so I put the US Open on DVR and teed off at 3 pm. Check in was easy, and bag attendants polite and tried to get us out early. Twosome following a couple other 4 balls, easy pace in windy conditions. Plenty of maintenance evident as the grasses/weeds immediately off the course cut back and trimmed. The entire course presents very well. Tees lush, fairways mown down to about 1/2 inch, dry and running long. First cut of rough 1 inch, secondary around 2 inches. If you hit off the course- weeds!!!. Sand very good. The greens were perfect. Wow. Smooth, fast and holding well, and dried as the day progressed. The bent grass on the greens does have some poa annua 'birthmarks', but not affecting any putting. Free bottles of water at the start, lots of drinks cart passes helped. Downside: no practice range, only warm up mats/nets. Upside: superb course layout. Good facility at the clubhouse with great F&B. A very active and well attended club made the day worth a return very soon. See course website for hole by hole tips.
