I played Old Back Nine Golf course on 9-28-15. It was a little late in the season for central Oregon but the weather was in the high 70's with no wind. This 9 hole course has three tee boxes so it can be an interesting round for golfers of different skill levels. I was able to play around twice and found that the second time I was more aware of the trouble spots to avoid. The course is set in large Ponderosa pines with about half of the fairways being fairly narrow. The fairways, rough and greens were in near perfect condition. The course did not have any bunkers (hence the good rating) but did have a number of ponds and streams. The views of the Cascade Mountains were spectacular. While some early reviews of this course were critical of the staff and management of this course I found everyone to be very friendly and accommodating. The pace of play was a little slow but I was a single playing behind 3 groups of local seniors and still was able to finish each 9 holes in under 2 hours. While there are no discounts available for this course the regular price of $22 per nine holes was reasonable for a course in this condition and with this beauty. My wife was able to ride along with me for no charge.
