Scotty Cameron Studio Style Putter : The Scotty Cameron Newport Studio Style line of putters is the optimal blend of high performance and classic design. New for 2005, the Studio Style series incorporates a German Stainless steel (GSS) inlay, adhered with screws and a hi-tech polymer, seen on the Tour proven Red X line, with precision milled 303 stainless steel. The milled GSS inlay and Studio Stainless give the Studio Style Newport perfect feedback: a combination of superior sound and feel. The Newport has been refined in the Studio, making it slightly wider from front to back with a thinner topline and more radiused weight bumps leading down the back flange. This gives the putter a softer, less mechanical look while retaining the 1/4 toe hang for optimal toe flow. The finish, a soft beaded mist, eliminates glare from the topline, while the face has a scotch-brite finish and the GSS insert retains its milled look. The Newport 1.5 combines the proven performance of the Newport design with a short, flowing Santa Fe style neck for added toe flow. This combination promotes the opening and closing gate effect for players needing more toe flow. The Newport 2 has a flat front neck that is in line with the topline and a wider body from front to back. The 1/4 toe hang gives the putter ideal balance and optimal toe flow. The Newport 2.5 has the same great attributes as the refined Newport 2 but with a short, flowing Santa Fe style neck creating more toe flow. Not sure about this thin metal insert on the putter face but it does seem to keep the ball on the face a tad longer during contact with the ball. Do not like the thin red color grip. Prefer the leather grip on the Scotty Cameron American Classic III. The address is good and very minimalist. Make sure you keep the cover on as the head dings easily.
