- Total Game Improvement takes on new meaning with the all-new Golfsmith TGI-560 irons -- a set in which every design feature is created expressly for the middle-to-high-handicap player. - Semi-shallow, wide sole long irons transition to standard profile, medium-wide sole short irons to control the center of gravity (CG) location. The result is a higher launch angle in the long irons and a lower, more controlled trajectory in the short irons. - Unique transistional deep undercut cavity in the long irons changes to a more conventional deep cavity, non-undercut design in the short irons. The deep, undercut cavity of the long irons pulls the CG lower and farther back from the face making them easier to get airborne and hit more solidly. Back cavity shape also increase heel and toe weighting by increasing mass on the heel and toe areas of the back pad in both the undercut and non-undercut designs. Progressive lie angles reduce the tendency toward left to right faded shots. Maximum heel-toe and front-back sole radii encourage minimum contract between turf and sole to reduce fat shots and promote solid contact. Increased bounce angles on the shoryt irons further reduce the tendency toward fat shots and help to extract the ball from rough and sand. Shaft Matching: this game improvement iron design matches well with ultralight to standard weight steel shafts with mid-to-low bend point, or with ultralight-to-standard weight graphite with mid-to-low bend points and medium-to-low torque ratings.
