This golfin gals BEST friend...no more bugging my husband for distance to the green; no more 2nd guessing and asking "Honey what does the red distance stake measure? How about the White one? and even worse, when there aren't any stakes and you've got to try and find some sort of thing that might give you a hint as to how far away you are. The voice is very discreet and not annoying at all. You can even turn it all the way down and just look at the display. Found the course quickly, then I clipped to my front pocket;, then away I went. Actually had a cart with a GPS, but thought I'd see how the 2 compared. My Golf Buddy Voice was basically exact from when I would pull right up beside my ball. But when I walked away from the cart, a simple push of the button, or simple look down, and there was my yardage on the little screen. With a push of the button it'll display/speak the distance to the Front; another push and it'll display/speak distance to the Back; and one more push and it'll display/speak distance to the Center. It even displays the shape of the green!! This little thing is just F A N T A S T I C!!! Show it off to everyone we play with and they are just as fascinated with it. Even those that had another GPS device were impressed (especially when I told him the GBV was packed with over 30,000 courses and it didn't cost a dime for updates/no annual contracts either -- just plugged it into my laptop and checked on updates/uploaded as needed. Software download was easy! Did I mention I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE this thing? ;) I take it with me EVERY round...a simple glance and I have the confidence on what club/iron to select. Oh this also can measure your drive with the push of a little button on the side to start and push again to end. OH, and when you set-up your online account for downloads/updates, you can even set up the display of your GBV to show your name/tel # in case you lose it. I think you can even have it display the date/time; but I don't mess with the addeded features that much. This won't give you distance to hazards; but for someone like me it does exactly what I need it for. I got mine on ebay (new) for less than the retail price w/no tax or S&H. Tis the season for great cyber deals.
