This review is from Christmas 2011...I know, it's a long time ago, but I don't think things have changed much since then.

The Gold Course is, hands down, the best golf course I have ever played. From the moment you arrive, you are treated like royalty. It's not a country club, but it sure feels like it. The clubhouse is everything you would expect from a PGA tour stop...amazing. Full of nostalgia from the previous years of the Shootout. The practice facilities are the best I've ever seen. This course services the Ritz Carlton in Naples, so the full rack rate of $295 is pretty steep. I was fortunate enough to play with a member for $75. Score! Honestly, I think it's worth the full rack rate.

The course is immaculate. Not a blade of grass out of place. There were more workers than golfers on the course, but you'd never know they were there. The greens were perfect. Fast and true, rolled like glass. Very few ball marks. It was tough for me to pick my line because the grass was so perfect...no imperfections for me to use as my guide! The fairways were like carpet, with all visible divots filled in. The tee boxes were flat and perfect. The par 3 tee boxes had a couple of beat up areas, but now I'm nitpicking!

The restaurant after the round was great. Service was top-notch, as was the food. When I went to get my bag, my shoes and all my clubs had been cleaned. Impressive.

If you get the chance to play Tiburon Gold Course, do it. It's fantastic. I highly recommend it. I will play it again someday, even if I have to pay the full rate.
