With Alhambra torn up through Oct I decided to play here this morning. I did 18 holes walking in 3 H. The course is in terrific shape. Every tee box is level and clean. Fairways (though damp) had great lies and good roll out. Very little if any rough to deal with outside the fairways and around the greens. Traps had adequate sand and the one I was in played just fine. They punched a few weeks ago and you would not know that unless you asked. The greens were just excellent for chipping, putting, holding shots but a tad slow with the dampness in the AM. I am sure they are much faster later in the day given the great condition they are in. They have lowered their rates since they opened and charged me $32 to walk. Which I felt was very fair given the conditions I was met with. They are also running specials on the website if you are interested. The now have a beautiful outdoor area with 2 huge TV screens along with many tables to sit at. A brand new bar area serving food and cocktails. And firepits/chair as well. Very well done IMO. No driving range but they do have a large putting green. The only complaint I would have is that there are no porta toilets on the course and the only bathrooms are at the clubhouse. I can already see that as a problem (LOL). Was just informed more aeration on Oct 22 and course will be closed.
