1'st time out. I found it to be very wide open. The 5 or 6 lakes here don't even come into play. What's the point? The greens were bumpy but very consistent throughout the course. The speed was medium to slow . I found the course to be enjoyable though in that it is not too boring. Even though the fairways were wide the layout was pleasing. There were not any easy par 3 holes distance wise. I did not find myself in any bunkers, so no comment there, other than I witnessed some shots out by others, and they seemed fine. The course layout is forgiving. The tough holes are in the middle of your round so you are ready for them, then a par 5 finishing hole to get you back. They did have one green closed, I believe it was 17, a par 4. They stuck a flag in front of the green about 30 yards short in a big hole with a cup in the center, and put a small chalk line circle around it. Kind of cheesy.
No complaints about the tee boxes, the rough was pretty tame, the fairways were not good at all, too thin, but they were ok to hit off of. Doesn't make sense I know. Some grass, but not hard dirt, you could hit down on the ball and not kill your wrists. There that's better.
Overall, it is a good course to play to get the feel of a big course, without all the trouble spots on most full size courses. Green fees very reasonable at twilight walking. $3 for a nice three wheeler cart.

The course is seriously over-watered... especially the greens. Footprints everywhere on the greens due to the soft turf.

Played twilight, and the conditions were decent. Flat and wide opened course so it's easy to shoot a good round. Reasonable green fees. For a LA County course, this one isn't too bad.

Got the first tee time on a weekday and they put my partner and me together with two other guys, then sent a twosome in a cart out behind us, which seemed a little odd. We played in 3:15 and still felt a bit rushed. The course is pretty green, but the greens are sooo slow, it was very difficult to get the speed right on the putts, and one of them had 2 inches of standing water in the middle of it. What's the ruling on that? :) And there were three tees with the sprinklers actually spraying the whole tee box. It's a fun course and the staff is nicer than your average muni course, but I won't be going out at 5:49am again anytime soon.

Played Sun a.m. 7/27. Wide open, but more interesting than the Balboa or Encino courses. Course is in good shape and greens are very receptive. Perhaps not a challenge to low handicaps, it is a good muni course with a friendly staff...and at my play level, makes for a very enjoyable Sunday morning.

this is a total practice/bring a beginner here/glorified driving range type course.

it has a few good holes(4, 12 from back tee, 13) for better golfers but for the most part, i'm embarrassed if i don't shoot in the 70's here. i actually shot a 79 this morning and new i left at least 4 STUPID shots out there.
it does have the challenge of length though. 6800 yds.

i give this course, including it's mediocre conditions, a 5.
