Played on 2/4. Woodley was in Woodley shape. There is always some odd water thing going on here. Mystery water in the middle of a fairway or a sprinkler coming on near a green or in the fairway as you approach your ball. Only real complaint is the Old Grouchy Marshall with bad teeth and a mustache. He never helps and always becomes defensive when you mention slow play. Had a run in with him and got the usual response. He accused my playing partner of having an attitude. He drove away muttering something and then proceeded to visit each of other players in my group to explain what jerks me and my partner were. Why does the City of Los Angeles pay guys like this to drive around in carts and NOT DO ANYTHING? Life is too short to go around angry, especially on a GOLF COURSE. Hey mister Marshall, I don't give a $#@! about you. I just want to complete my round of golf in a decent amount of time. Why dont YOU just do your job?

Can't complain- you know what you're gonna get at Woodley. Very decent greens, slow play, and not too much rough. My only complaint is this: would someone please turn off the sprinklers on the 7th green while we putt? Nothing like trying to dodge the water while putting for birdie during a tournament...and no, I missed.

The conditions were the best I have ever seen at Woodley, however with the pace of play was horrible. I had a 12:45 tee time and couldn't even get all 18 holes completed by the time it got dark at 5.... Continue »

The conditions were the best I have ever seen at Woodley, however with the pace of play was horrible. I had a 12:45 tee time and couldn't even get all 18 holes completed by the time it got dark at 5. Some one needs to get on the slow players about picking up the pace a little. Overall, I would recomend this course just try to avoid playing on the weekend.

greens are pretty good right now. Fairways are a little dried out. Rough is thick in some areas. Easy course to score on.

I teed off for my first round at Woodley Lakes at 6:50 a.m. on October 21 and was impressed by the speed of play -- we were done in just under 4 hours (compared to over 5 hours at Knollwood 2 weeks ago). It's a very straightforward course: flat with very little trouble and large greens. I plan on returning because of the pace of play.

Right now Woodley is about the best shape I've seen it ever. I have been playing this course off and on for about 8 years, and it is in great condition. The greens have always been better than most La city courses, but now they are even better. Good job for the grounds crew. Although it is still a very easy and straight forward course, right now you can't beat the condition.

THE COURSE IS IN FAIRLY GOOD SHAPE. GREENS ROLLING TRUE BUT A LITTLE SLOW. PACE OF PLAY MID-WEEK WAS 4 HOURS 15 MIN.. MUCH BETTER THAN OTHER L.A. MUNIS.

Played saturday and all I can say, is that Woodley Lakes is in Great Shape! Haven't played this course since the late 80's and it is vastly improved. Can't wait to get out there again.
