Played the course yesterday, from tee to green it was in fantastic shape. The greens were punched ( of course the started said nothing to us) on a good note, they only did 1/2 of the greens..... Teed off @ 7:52 done @12:30 beautiful day. With all the rain, course was lush and in really good shape..... Shot 75

They have begun the aeration of the greens. Back 9 was done yesterday and surprisingly playable. Front 9 done today. They are only doing 1/2 of each green with other 1/2 in two weeks. Rest of the course is in good condition. All new tee boxes on back 9 except 10 so no issues. Front 9 tee boxes were in good shape. Fairways in good shape. Pace of play 3.5 as no one showed up, either expecting rain or they won't play during aeration? Greens fee for 18 walking is now $27 vs $26 before.

Course is still in good shape. The recent rain and fog has slowed the fairways down, but the greens are still in great shape. Sand in the bunkers is fine, especially the new bunkers on back nine. We still played in 4 hours this morning as groups moved along w/o delay. Anyone interested there is a public shotgun on Monday March 18 @ 7AM.

So i went out to Trump to hit some practice balls but it was closed so i thought i would come to try this course out. 4th March the small design of the club house was like Torrey Pines with the tee box below and the shop design, maybe this was a design feature of Public Courses at a time?

So i played in a 4 ball, who all where good fun and played good, i had about 15-20 mins to wait to my tee time so i hit the putting green and it was very slick and smooth.

They also have a range here so practice facilities are very good.

Its a tight driving course and the greens do have some slopes on them making it tricky and for the speed and condition at this time of year, excellent

It would be unfair to be harsh about the thin fairways as the grass isnt in full grown yet but it is a good course for your irons as you need to play for position on many holes.

There is a driveable par 4 on the back 9, it might be 12 ? great hole for risk or reward from an elavated tee box

its cost $18 to walk and it was lovely, if you are out that way its worth playing :)

Joined some friends for any early round this AM. Glad I did. We finished in 3:20 and we did not rush. For some reason the place was quite this morning and a twosome went out first and then us. Fairways are still rolling and rolling as some of us have said previously. But I am OK with that. They were watering the greens this morning and it helped greatly, as right after sunrise, the wind came up for about 30 minutes and w/o the water the greens would have been unplayable given the sunny conditions. Overall the course in my opinion is in great shape and the greens are fantastic. I cannot say enough about the changes they made on the back 9 last fall (new sand; removal of traps; level the tee boxes) as the areas are taking hold now and making the back 9 holes play much better. Looking forward to see what they do the front 9 this spring. And today the green fees went from $26 to $27 for walkers.

Out early on Wednesday, 2/27, moving at a 4 hour pace. LV is not a destination golf course by no stretch of the imagination but the views today would rival any SoCal coastal course: just crystal clear, not a cloud in the sky, with a very light breeze. Gee, these summer-like days are so much better than fog :) Fairways are somewhat dried out due to the previous windy days and the rough is very patchy with uneven clumps of grass which can produce a deep grass hack out or a pick-it-clean hard pan shot or something in between ... it's all a matter of luck. Lots of roll out off the tee, and, speaking of tee boxes, you may need a hammer to get some of those tees in the hard ground. The greens are just super quick and firm right now, and a bit uneven. It's very tight poa starting to show some seed heads so it's not holding well ... we had several iron shots release well past the pin, oft times leaving a hellacious downhill putt, so beware.

Went out in 4 hours this morning. Cool and cold when we teed off but warmed up by the time we got through 6 holes. What rain that came through last night did not damage the course. In fact the wind had dried everything out and the fairways were firm/fast and the greens in great shape. Was not in any bunkers but you could see the sand was still damp from the overnight rain. Maintenance crews were out cutting greens and fairways. The rough was up in many of the new remodeled areas on the back 9 and it was tough to hit out of if you were in it. And the staff on Wed is great as always.

POP was 3 hours 15 but the course was not in good shape. Greens were sanded M/T and still had not been cleaned. Only # 13 was cleaned but the rest were not and caused putting to be very erratic. Bunke... Continue »

POP was 3 hours 15 but the course was not in good shape. Greens were sanded M/T and still had not been cleaned. Only # 13 was cleaned but the rest were not and caused putting to be very erratic. Bunkers were not raked on many holes and fairways provided less than stellar lies. Not in the best of condition but it is still winter and better days are coming.
