Technical. You'll do well if you know your shot shape and distances. Holes 1, 2 and 3 are pretty good to get you dialed in before presenting the 1st elevated tee box and green combination with a fai... Continue »

They have a rain/flood layout when the river's water level is too high. Felt I should share it as I haven't seen it anywhere else, and they'll be using for the foreseeable future. Holes 1, 2, and 3 are normal. You then go down the river side of the driving range to the 10th tee box for hole 4. ...

Topic: How about .. what was the most challenging hole at River View?

This is an old discussion, but I'll jump in. I grew up on this course (literally - my parents still live adjacent to the 11th fairway), so I know it quite well. Hole 4 has always been a difficult play, whether in its current configuration, or the old (1980's & `90's configuration) - a tight drivin...

easiest hole - let it rip off the tee! - fairway is 60+ yds wide and everything funnels towards the center and narrows down where only tiger could hit his drive - favor the right side on your approach - avoid the greenside bunker at all cost and missing left at all will ruin any chance of making birdie - very small flat green with a little tilt back to front

elevated tee usually downwind and reachable for the long knockers - need to hit a draw to hold the fairway that slopes towards the river that runs down the right side of the fairway - alot of room left and most balls kick back down to the fairway - lay up shot is a no brainer and easy - large elevated green over 40 yds front to back - those going for the green in two must hit two awsome shots - alot of tilt on front of green and a small shelf for the back pin - good luck!
