Played T-Creek Mon. AM, 4 hr. round, $50 w/Creek card. Carts allowed on fairways. Rough still long and tough to play from, keep it in the fairway at all costs. Greens very quick and in very good shape.

They're re-constructing the par 3, fifth hole, so it's playing from the drop area. They're enlarging the green and changing bunker design ... the results should be interesting.

Dec 29, Rained but you wouldn't know it by the run our balls had in the fairway and on greens. These greens soaking wet were faster than others I have played recently. Overall good experience. Staff is great got us out early. Only suggestion if you are playing on a rainy day or a day where it rained before hand call ahead. They closed the back nine due to flooding.

Played at the Creek Dec. 31, holiday rates in effect but they gave us a discount ($70) due to a frost delay of 1.5 hours. Staff very considerate and helpful. CPO as this course gets kinda mushy after a good rain ... we played it LC&P. Fairways were lush and super-soft with very little roll out. Greens soft, too, but slick as snot. Rough long and just brutal. POP 5 hrs (about 3hrs front and 2hrs back, go figure). $1.50 bean burrito at the turn with a cold brew, oh yeah. Good way to prep for the new years eve parties.

On the course Monday AM: overnight rain left the fairways and rough soggy but very playable. Greens damp so speed varied. Overseed filling in nicely and this rain will help assure T-Creek will have good conditions once it drys out. Not many groups out today, leasurely pace of 4 hrs., cart path only.

It has been many years since I last played here,I use to own a town home between the 3rd green & 4th tee box. At that time,always played a twilight rate when I lived here.

My wife won a "$ilent auction" for a 4-ball discount meanwhile the rack rate is like $95?
We chose this Monday for many different reasons & I was looking forward to playing here. It was myself,Gadget Girl,her closest friend Andryce and we had an open spot, invited Dconnally since he lived nearby.

We arrived an hour early for our tee time,ONLY mats were allowed to hit balls from. A gentlemen gave us his remaining practice golf balls (Close to 40) to use since he was called to the tee box. On the range,there were TWO rectangular targets (One UCLA colors & One USC colors) 88 yards (laser) I don't know if they were up just for the BIG GAME. There are TWO putting greens to choose from with many hole locations, where one is located right next to the 10th tee box. Did not see a chipping area that I recall.

LAYOUT: I know it's been a few years,it surely has matured over the time.The layout is the same just the trees come into play on several holes,that's IF you let them get in your head! You need to play a shot what the hole calls for...It's a challenging layout but very playable for all skill levels. The front (9) fairways are wider than the back (9).
Hole #10 gives you a chance at making birdie and getting back on track after playing the front (9). Holes #17 & #18 are pretty tough to finish strong on...


BUNKERS: Inconsistent,some were dirt,one had wet sand/dirt while some others were soft to fluffy sand. I gave them a good rating overall just a little inconsistent, doesn't look like maintenance is required compared to other courses we've played.

TEE BOXES: Some of the PAR 3's had boxes closed but not a problem since other options were available and very playable. Grass seemed to be longer than what I remember.
A very nice mixture of PAR 3's. Divot sand mix available on all the par 3's. I observed the refill sand in all of the locations to be WET and heavy. We did our best to refill when we could.

GREENS: In my opinion,the greens were soft & very receptive but then again I was using my Srixon Z-star model golf ball. My typical approach shots were holding the greens easily. Speed of the putting surface was EXACTLY the same speed out on the course.
Medium pace majority of the time,rolled smooth & true, have healed nicely! Some ball marks, only saw a few repaired incorrectly where the roots were exposed. Took the time to touch/fix the one's we could.

FAIRWAYS: On Monday,the course overall is playing longer! There is NO ROLL from tee shots on the front nine,don't know IF the recent rain played a part but we were allowed to observe the 90* rule (Other carts on the course were not,you could see where the track marks were) The balls were sitting down & I would estimate the fairways height were 1" meanwhile the rough was mostly 3" ALL very lush...I struggled with chip & pitch shots out of both the fairway & rough. In hindsight, should have probably used my wedge with the 14* bounce vs the 8* of bounce in the fluffy lies. OVERALL the course is GREEN & LUSH! The starter asked us to refill our divots and we tried our best (see above wet refill mix).

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Eric the starter was very pleasant, easy going. We saw a MARSHAL on the course many times & he was not being distracting at all!!! Did his job perfectly. Kept his distance as needed. My only knock would be the maintenance guys probably need to be told to SHUT DOWN the BLOWER while people are putting on the green or in the fairway waiting for it to clear. SITTING PARKED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES WAS IRRITATING...

For a DEAL it's worth it...but NOT for what they are asking...

Played T-Creek Monday morning, must have been just a couple hours before dconnally and his friends. To add to his accurate review: we get out before the mowers on the front nine so, yes, the fairways were a bit long ... and the rough was deep and wet, just a bear to hit from. Back nine did not have that problem ... everything was cut and very dry. Greens were super-soft but had good speed and rolled true, just a few bumps here and there ... probably gets worse later in the day due to spike marks. Carts are allowed on fairways now and the course will only get better as the overseed fills in. Also, IMO, T-Creek in not what I consider a 'high end' OC daily fee (like S-Farms or Oak Creek) ... it's more middle of the road. But they do have an attentive staff, nice clubhouse/restaurant, and a decent practice facility.

POP was nice, not much waiting, played in 4:15. $50 green fee (w/cart) using the Creek Card which goes on sale Dec. 1 ... great deal and worth checking out if you play this course even a few times a year.

Played on a gorgeous Monday late morning on 11/19/12 - thanks to GKers gadgetgirl and addictedtugolf for the invitation and companionship. The day was warm and sunny with only a hint of wind that freshened in the early afternoon.

Tijeras recently came out of aeration/overseeding and is still very soft throughout. Tees and fairways were shaggy - lies in the fairway generally sat "down" and were difficult to hit cleanly. Par 3 tees were in pretty rough condition - those on the back side were undergoing a lot of work or blocked off. Greens were soft, receptive, and rolled OK at medium speed. I wasn't in a bunker, but heard playing companions make comments about bunkers being wet.

POP somewhat slow at 4.5+ hours. Saw the cart girl several times. Saw rangers several times. Lots of divot seed available, as well as water stations. Bathrooms are pretty basic for a high-end daily fee course. Generally recommended.

Pros- Great layout. Both nines are a unique test of golf. Fair but tough. Fairways were a bit furry from overseeding but overall really nice. Lush rough and greens that are rolling true.
Cons- Greens a bit slow... i am being picky... Traps need new sand. POP was slow and teed off 10 minutes late.
Overall, great course, will go back

It sometimes isn't fair to review a course so soon after aeration, but the greens were actually the least of the issues here. I am not sure where the numerical rating is going to come out, but I liked the course a lot, there were just a few issues. We played early on a Sunday, but the weather has been warm of late with no rain, so casual water should not have been an issue.

Unfortunately, it was an issue. There were a lot of very wet lies. and the sand traps were very heavy. It wasn't a mud bog, but it was a lot wetter than I was expecting. They had also closed the blue tees, and the whites were pretty heavily used. I don't know how often the rotate positions, so maybe we caught the end of a cycle, but there was plenty of good grass around the tees.

It was definitely a fun course and worth playing. From the general conditions, I expect that they take good care of the course, which made the over-watering a little extra head scratching.
