Drove out from Valencia to play on Saturday morning with a good friend. Very old school Palm Springs feel. My wife and I usually go to La Quinta to stay and play but this course and area really brought me back to when I was a kid and my family came to Palm Springs to vacation. Nice friendly well manicured course in historic Palm Springs. Played in 4 hours on
a Saturday morning. Not overly difficult by any means but well thought out course. The neighborhood was classic. Tucked in the canyon to protect from the wind. Overall a great morning on a fun well taken care of course. Great Breakfast too. I'll be back.

Drove out to Palm Springs last Thursday night very excited to finally play a desert course like Indian Canyons. Had a 7am tee time for the south course to beat the heat. Price was very reasonable at $27 with a cart, and to top that they even threw in lunch (which was actually quite good). Paired up with a nice gentleman at the driving range and we were told we could start more or less whenever we wanted.

Reason for that was because it was pretty empty based on the fact that they hadn't watered to the course I heard in an entire week or so. Was I mad? No, not necessarily - I understand that Palm Springs' bread and butter is the winter so they were reseeding and closing this week to get it in peak condition. The fairways were mostly yellow but still playable - reminded me a lot of conditions at Lost Canyons (shadow course) in Simi Valley.

Again, for $27 and the understanding that MY timing wasn't perfect, it didn't really bother me at all. The tee boxes were fine, as were the greens, and I found the layout good fun. Also, there's only one hole that runs between homes so that's great. Scenery is fantastic, lots of hazards to confound a high-handicapper like myself.

I would love to come play here again when the conditions are as perfect as I know they will be in a month or so. Had such a fun front nine shooting a 43. Don't ask about the back 9. Oh yeah, customer service was top notch - very friendly, helpful and did I mention a great free lunch?

Bunkers could use freshening with new sand.....this was more of a firm dirt....which btw I am kind of fine with actually. Fluffy sand is a bear for me on occasion. I would say a fairly easy course from the blue as long as you keep your incoming angles correct...but what course isn't like that right? Putting services very nice and receptive to even long irons. These Bermuda greens were quite slow though...I had at least 4 or 5 putts come up just short. They need to speed them up a bit IMO. Beautiful farm set right at the base of the mtns. just S of downtown Palm Springs. Great deal, comp. Waters and ice, cool towels from Marshall. Give the place a go, but go before 8am.

I always enjoy playing here. The course is very well maintained from tee to green. Greens are medium/fast with very little damage and the course is lush with very short rough.

Indian Canyons South isn't a difficult course. Most of the tee shots have wide fairways but a couple of the par 3's are tough.

Customer service was great and we got around in a little over 3 hours starting at 7:30am. I highly recommend this course. Beautiful, well maintained course that doesn't beat you up.

For my second round of the day, I chose Indian Canyons (South) based on a $65 GN hot deal rate for an 11:36 tee time. Other than getting started on the first tee, I really enjoyed my experience on this course. It's a really beautiful setting and fun layout.

With this being such a busy golf day, the starter seemed very confused and didn't have a lot of order as groups lined up on the first tee. I eventually teed off with a twosome. Their time was 11:10, but things were running late and there was some mix-ups. Another single that also had the same tee time as me ended up joining us and we teed off around 11:45. The course was crowded and the group ahead of us was playing from the black tees (they shouldn't have), so we were waiting on most shots. Still, we finished in about 4.5 hours, so it wasn't as slow as it seemed.

The course was in solid shape coming out of overseeding. Everything was green and lush, though still pretty shaggy. Not much roll out on the fairways, but they were nice to hit from with the ball sitting up nicely. Rough was green and lush, but not cut too deep, so easy to hit from. Tee boxes good all around. Bunkers OK. Not the best sand, but playable. The greens were running relatively slow and were still a little shaggy/bumpy. Once we figured out the speeds, though, we adjusted and did OK. This course should be looking and playing real nice in a few more weeks. As it is now, it looks great and plays well enough.

I really liked this course. The setting is beautiful, tucked back in the canyon with a lot of "close-up" mountain views. Very few houses around the course, which is a nice change of pace for Palm Springs. The layout is not super challenging, but I would deem it very "fair." If you hit a bad shot, you will likely be punished (trees, water hazards, bunkers, OB). If you hit a good shot, you will be rewarded. Good mix of hole lengths and designs, some fun greens that can be hard to read, but not overly tricked-out with crazy undulations. I would definitely recommend this course.

Fun track. Nice variety. Some fairways had a fungus making them patchy. The greens were consistent, medium speed & a grain to be mindful of. Fairway bunkers were a bit rocky. Greenside bunkers were fine. We got a great deal on Golf Now, $29 - all day. Plenty of ice cold water every three holes, all day long. Good food in the restaurant. Friendly staff. I'll be back.

Indian Canyons South is be closing in a week to overseed for the winter but playing conditions were still very good. I played as a single and was paired with the slowest 3some on the course. I guess it was good practice for my mental game.

Anyway, Indian Canyons is a beautiful course that is almost always in good shape and it is also easy, with wide fairways, not much trouble off the tee, and big greens.

It is a bit expensive during season so I will probably be back next summer to play again!
