Played out here this morning with Eaglee as part of an SCGA one-day tournament. Mainly an excuse to play a new course that's normally private. The price was $165 for the team, so $82.50 a piece. A little steep, but not too bad for winter and the conditions more than made up for it. Shotgun start with mostly only one group on each hole, so the pace was great and we all finished in just over 4 hours. As mentioned, the conditions were absolutely excellent. Barely a blade of grass out of place anywhere on the course. Great tee boxes, perfect fairways and thick rough that was challenging to hit from. Greens firm and rolling at medium/quick speeds. Good bunkers. What's interesting is like other desert courses, they encourage divots be filled with the sand/seed mix rather than replacing the grass. However, they take it one step further by equipping each cart with a bucket specifically for disposing of your divots. An extra touch to keep things looking sharp throughout the course. The course is a pretty traditional, but enjoyable layout. Some tight fairways with trees to contend with and a number of nice water hazards. 9th hole is the signature with an island fairway landing area and intimidating approach from there. 14th and 18th also great water holes. Good overall course and spectacular conditions made it an enjoyable day here.
