Had an opportunity to play here. Some friends and I went in on a silent auction round recently, so we used it today. They had an 8:30 shotgun, which was only 7 groups. We started on the 4th hole with a gap in front of us and behind us, so we enjoyed a great pace of our own. Just over 3.5 hours. Then we had a nice BBQ buffet lunch in the clubhouse. The course is in exceptional condition. The drought has no effect here as everything was beautifully manicured, lush and green from tee to green. Very few minor flaws noticed anywhere. The greens were soft and rolling smooth at medium speeds. Bunkers were nice. Everything pretty much top notch. The conditions were fantastic. The course was just OK. Very much reminiscent of so many other courses out in the desert. Very flat terrain with generous fairways. Greens don't have too much slope, but the breaks are subtle and I found them hard to read. There is some water in play and those are definitely the most interesting holes. The back nine has more water and is more interesting overall, but still will blend in with nearby Desert Island, Tamarisk and plenty of the older public tracks that have a similar look and feel. Some nice landscaping around the course does add some visual appeal. It's still worth playing if you get a chance because the conditioning, clubhouse, setting and staff are all great for that true private club feel. In other words, we had a really great time, but I'll remember more about the overall experience here than the course itself.
