Release your expectations and come experience truly great muni golf. Short par 35 layout includes eight par 4's and one par 3. No holes longer than ~260 yards, but tall trees and a couple dog-legs will force you to make a shot off the tee. Challenge yourself by just playing the whole thing with a 7-iron, wedge and putter. Fairways are actually lush and well-maintained. Greens are unfortunately not in great shape, bumpy and bare in spots with patches of different grasses, but they are genuinely hard and fast and not receptive to approach shots - you have to hit it high. I paid $8 (yes, eight whole dollars) to walk 9 holes in the afternoon on a Sunday and I think I've found my new favorite short walking track after the old San Bernardino Golf Club closed down.

A nice short little course for walking or riding. Perfect for a couple of old seniors. The management has taken a more extreme approach to Covid-19 than our Semi-private course we live on. The carts have a clear plastic separator between driver and passenger. No rakes, no ball washers plus no one is allowed in the building except employees. The greens rolled well, the fairway were fine, except a few tee shots had mud on the ball. Price was not bad. !8 holes with cart was $56 for two. We do not live near Hemet, but was passing though, and since our course has been closed for 3 weeks thought we would give it a try. You have to work hard to lose a ball at Echo Hills.

Squished my way around echo hills today. Played at 8am while the morning watering was going off. They over seeded the course two weeks ago. No riding carts allowed on the course, walking only until November. EVERYTHING is very fuzzy! The tee boxes, fairways, and especially the green are very fuzzy. No point in putting. They always mow on Mondays. So next week will be GREAT! This corse is maintained by the city landscape crew. They keep it in great shape. But lack the equipment to keep up the greens, compared to other golf courses.
I use this as a chip and pitch practice course. Great place for iron practice.
Actually this course is very short. No need for anything longer than a 5 iron. And I don't use it until hole 5, 277 yards. This is a great course for anyone. I take my kids here and I take my buddies. Everyone always has a good time!

Played yesterday with my son (age 6), walking together for the first time. Fairly busy today, there were several people already on the course and a larger group starting about an hour after we did.

Conditions were as good as I've seen them in at least 10 years, the rain has helped tremendously. Some of the tees need leveling but if you moved around you could always find a decent place to tee it up. Fairways were good, couple soggy/muddy spots but even those weren't bad. Rough doesn't come into play on most holes but it's long and thick enough to cause problems if you find it. Was in one bunker behind #9 (which is where you do NOT want to be), a little thin and firm but playable.

Greens have always been the issue here, they are all quite firm and a little on the thin side. Due to the trees around some they don't get a lot of sun and don't always grow out well because of it. Putts still rolled well at medium speed but you always get the impression they're just this side of dying off (but they never do, not sure how that works!).

The course layout includes eight very short par 4's and one par 3. However, it plays a lot harder you expect given the yardage. There are only two of the par 4's where trying to drive the green is a realistic option - the rest either dogleg enough to cause major problems if you don't judge the corner perfectly or finish with a significant uphill climb. Also, the greens are REALLY small - #6 and #8 are no more than about 12-13 yards front-to-back and side-to-side. Lots of mature tall trees mean you have to stay in the fairway as well. Can easily be played with nothing more than a 6-iron.

Excellent value - $12 walking, no charge for my son. Nothing special but will definitely test your distance control and short game and is a great place to take a beginner, regardless of age.

Played last Friday in the morning with my 6-year old. Conditions were decent, tees were mostly level and not much damage. Fairways had ok coverage with a few this/dirt areas. Greens were firm and pretty slow, rough varies from short to thick in places. Sand was a little thin and firm but playable.

This is a short 9 hole executive with 8 short par 4's and 1 par 3. VERY small greens and tight between lots of mature trees. Greens were slow but consistent and rolled true.

Great value, $13 for myself and a cart, didn't charge for my son as he was just hitting balls here and there. Good iron practice, probably won't need anything longer than a 5-iron.

One of the last few SoCal public short courses on my list, so I headed out here this morning and met up with HmtGolfGuy and his young boy for a relaxed 9 holes. We got there a little after 8:00 and there was hardly anyone out on the course, so we got out right away and enjoyed our own pace. $9 to walk is a great deal. I really wasn't expecting much from the conditions this time of year, but was pleasantly surprised at how green and lush the course was. Tee boxes were nice. Fairways maybe a tad on the shaggy side, but they looked good and were great to hit from. Rough a bit more spotty, but still mostly pretty lush. The greens were overly firm and rolling a medium/slow speeds. Bunkers damp and compacted, but decent sand coverage in the one I hit into. Very fun course with eight short par-4s and only one par-3, which is weird. Mostly straight back and forth except for a couple dogleg holes (the 3rd is extra tricky). Tree-lined fairways and easy holes can quickly get tougher than you expect with a bad tee shot. I can understand why Ron has a soft spot for this local course and it's a great place to take his son to learn the game.
