Played after work on Fri. 5/5. I had only been here once before over a year ago so I only vaguely remembered its previous setup. I do remember paying a lot less for my late (4:15pm) round last time out--$45 is a bit steep for what could be a super twilight round. The course was in excellent shape. The rough wasn't real tall but was very thick and hard to play out of. The bunkers were full of sand and in good condition. The greens were softer than I expected--they held every shot, even the long iron I hit on the long par 3 on the back side. I lucked out and had little wind--rare in these parts! There were few people on the course, so I finished my round before the sun set. GPS on the carts is a bonus. I played from the blacks and the course was very fair.

I could not disagree more with the previous post. This course was a true gem, like playing back East or in the days before tricked up courses became the rage. Tree lined fairways, well placed green side bunkers, greens with some undulation but not impossible. The good news is the greens are still top notch as is the overall conditioning. Bad news the course lost so much character by tree removal it makes you wonder what the designer responsible for the changes was thinking. This was one of very courses originally designed by Desmond Muirhead in the area and not it is lost. Here's hoping that Quail Ranch will get back to good shape. If you really liked the old layout at Soboba Springs, the redesign will leave you shaking your head.

Played on a Sat 2 wks ago, course booked us on Fri. instead of Sat. Manager was super accomodating letting us play the back nine{which used to be the front} and then worked us in to the front. Manager then came and discussed some of the changes to the course w/ us in the grill after our round. Super dude! Now the changes, course used to get its teeth from narrow tree lined fairways, they have opened it up somewhat, but what was opened up was filled in w/ huge bunkers everywhere!!! I'm talking alot of bunkers!!! Sand is bright white and stunning giving course a different look. Also it is tour quality, a pleasure to play out of, which I had the chance to do many times, you can't avoid it! Course was also a bit longer than before, a little yardage was added. All the water features have been sculpted w/ rock and waterfalls, Tee boxes laser leveled, and a few new greens have been added, they are bent grass as the manager told us they expect the Poa to take over soon. As for the greens they are smooth and fast, no play for 6 months has left them in virgin condition, like pool tables!!! They still have some work to do to finish their project, but it's just going to get better! They made my favorite place to play even better!!! Great job guys!!!

Soboba Springs Golf Course has been closed due to damage from two heavy storms that caused mud slides (caused by the fire that we had weeks before) that ended up in the fairways.

The Soboba Band of Indians bought the course in December and they were planning on closing the course at some point to put in new irrigation system and redo some of the holes. So they decided to do it now since the damage from the storm was so extensive and it would be more cost effective to do it at the same time.

Once the rennovations are done to the course it will be one of the Premier courses in Riverside County, so it will be worth the wait.

Played on 6/11 and the course was very wet, overnight rain??? Greens were very smooth but a little slow. Great course but it is a long haul from just about anywhere. It takes me a good 50 minutes f... Continue »

Played on 6/11 and the course was very wet, overnight rain??? Greens were very smooth but a little slow. Great course but it is a long haul from just about anywhere. It takes me a good 50 minutes from Rancho Cucamonga so I understand why they don't get a lot of play. Still it is an excellent track and worth the effort to get there. Low green fee will at least help offset the price for gas to get there.

The reasonable green fees make it worth the drive to San Jacinto. Anyone who is interested in playing a decent course without emptying your wallet, play Soboba Springs Country Club.

Played on 4/30 and greens are fully recovered from aeration. This is classic layout and one of the few courses in the area that is. Nothing tricked up, just straight ahead golf. Good shots are rewarded and bad ones usually pay a significent penalty. Greens are running a slower than normal but should be back around 10 on stimp by this coming weekend. New carts and GPS add a nice touch, but this is one course when the GPS isn't really necessary - still if it speeds up pace of play it is a good thing. Oh yeah, the best thing is they have nine minute tee times, without exception, which really keeps play moving along. The starter will not let you tee-off until that nine minutes has elapsed, may seem odd, but you will definitely appreciate it as the round finishes and you realize it has only been about 4 hours and it is a weekend. Wish more courses would be as diligent with tee time bookings.

Course is rounding nicely into form. Addition of nice GPS system in carts is a plus. Majority of greens are almost recovered from aeration. Love the fairways on this course as you always get a nice fluffy lie. Round took 4 hours/15 mins teeing off at 7am on Saturday 4/23. Lots of fog for first 4 holes and course was rather wet as well due to the 'dew'. Still love this course.... just wish it was a bit closer to home. Rating 8.5.
