What an amazing place! I had a great score on a beautiful course. Seeing paragliders below me while on some of the tees made me realize how extreme the elevation changes are. There are 15 elevation changes on the 18 holes. Waterfalls abound as well as some of the most awe inspiring vistas imaginable. The course is pristine and well worth the money, but watch your speed on the downgrades!

I drove 90 min from the Strip to play and it was totally worth it. Course layout is not as severe as 1st appears if you play conservatively. I was lucky to have perfect conditions: no wind, 55-75*F at 7am teetime. Conditions were lush on the fairways and greens. The traps were evenly raked with the rare rock here and there, not the sparse conditions described by previous posters. I was able to get up and down from the sand 3 of 4 tries and I'm not that great a sand player.

I absolutely loved hitting those tee shots of the cliff over and over again. Seems like every tee is downhill. Without wind, the uphill par 3 third hole was defenseless. As testimony to the genius of the design, I had the hardest time making par on the shortest holes, so don't take them lightly.

As for the vistas, words cannot describe how beautiful it is. Pictures posted make you salivate, but to see it person, all I can say is, "wow!"

I will definitely make this a 'must play' every time I come to Vegas. Just be sure to be ready to do lots of climbing to the Black and Blue tee boxes. The cart path usually stops at the whites and you have a bit of a hike to the back tees. I had to book a massage after the round to soothe my aching muscles, but man, I'd do it again tomorrow...

Played Sunday morning, 6/29/08, on a hot sunny day with only light wind. This is an 'extreme' course with exaggerated carries, elevation changes, etc., making for a lot of lost balls, rehits, and very slow play - our round took almost 6 hours and we weren't behind. Course was in very good condition throughout, plenty of water available, no ranger to try to move play. Overall service was good at clubhouse bag drop, snack shack, cart girls. Recommended, but be ready for a long day.

Played 6/9/08 for the fourth time. Greens were very good to great each time, as were the fairways. Some tee boxes were a little chewed up. The bunkers were mostly a combination of dirt mixed with some sand, and not very deep loose sand/dirt before you hit the hardpan below. First time out was a suprise, second time better. The third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh time out were much better. I highly recommend a few practice shots in the practice bunker next to the driving range. The bunkers were consistant and playable but you need to get used to them. It's a must play if you are in Mesquite. The course requires shotmaking with great distance control. Very difficult to do with the elevation changes.

This is one of the most anticipated rounds of golf I played out in the Mesquite/St George area. All the reviews I read made me expect a version of golf heaven. Although the course was as high up as heaven in spots, it was not all I thought it would be. A few of the holes were a bit to out there for my tastes. Especially the uphill par 3 (the 4th I believe). Not only a tough 180 yard into the wind hole, but a jut of rock between you and the green making a slightly thin hit shot another lost ball. We all were on or just off the green, but IMO, a bit to much. Other then that the scenery was jaw dropping, the elevation changes from tee to fairway unreal. Your ball would stay in the air forever it seemed. The course was more playable then it seemed to be and in excellent condition. The green fees, although not cheap, were certainly fair for the golf course you got to play. I am a 9 shot 87 with a few lost balls and felt like I played pretty well.
