Played yesterday morning as first off. Temp at start 48 degrees (yikes). But warmed up quickly when the sun came up and was 68 by 9 AM. Never saw so many maintenance workers mowing fairways/greens at one time. They did an amazing job of cleaning the course in front of me and I never caught up to any one of them (10). I played in 3 hours because I had another tee time @ 9:38 on the Mountain course. The Lakes course is just a great warm up, for what is to come on the Mountain. Lakes is a wonderful 18 winding its way through trees and lakes (so quite/serene) and is really a well designed 6910 yard course. The shop staff is wonderful (10) and you would never know this place was a public course. Course conditions were outstanding. The area has had an abundance of rain in Aug making all the courses in the area nice and lush. So the rough was mean and you did not want to miss a fairway. Tee boxes level and mowed (10); fairways mowed/clean and providing an excellent lie, just the way you want them (10); greens are firm, void of divots (yeah), hold shots, putt straight and true (10). Just a beautiful course and a pleasure to play. Recommended highly.
