Rode the Purple tees (6507/71.2/128) in less than 3H twilight. The weather was overcast, breezy and around 105.

Shorter and not quite as demanding as it's sister Firecliff course. Fairways are wider, probably less traps overall but more water.

Most of the tees were lush and near immaculate. Only a few par 3's needed divot attention.

The fairways are firm, mostly lush and nice to play from.

The rough is mostly lush and not very penal. Usually nice to play from, especially nice to chip from.

The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick sand.

The greens putted medium to medium fast, firm and are reasonably smooth for Bermuda.

No drink cart person this afternoon. Nice GPS on carts. Excellent customer service on every visit here. Excellent all grass driving range with a nice chipping practice green. However, they close the range around 1 pm in the summer. Solid layout, highly recommended.

Rode the Purple tees (6507/71.2/128) in 3H twilight. The weather was clear, calm and 110. Doesn't get the notoriety of it's sister Firecliff course, but I like this layout more with each round. 18 solid holes of golf. More water than Firecliff, and some risk/reward holes that provide players options. Definitely one of my most favorite places to play 36 holes. The tees were lush and excellent to play from. The fairways are mostly lush and play firm. The rough is mostly lush and not very tall. Nice to play from. The sand traps were nicely maintained with thick sand. The greens putted better than Firecliff. Medium to medium fast, firm and reasonably smooth for Bermuda. Nice GPS on carts. Excellent customer service on every visit here. Tee it up at Desert Willow Golf Resort Thursday 4/19 on the Mountain View Course with some good friends visiting from Colorado. We also played the Firecliff Course the next day, will post a separate review for that one but both courses are in outstanding conditions. I’d say the Firecliff Course a little better due to the greens being faster.

I have played Desert Willow Golf Resort many times over the years and this was the best I’ve seen it. Super lush all the way around, bunkers in beautiful shape with high quality sand, greens medium speed, smooth and holding shot well for a desert course.

It was an early tee time at 7:42am and we finished easily in about 4 hours. Service from start to finish the staff was professional and friendly. Practice facilities excellent. Food very good. Try the breakfast burrito before your round. They have them freshly made and ready to heat up quick to save time.

If you are a first time player to Desert Willow Golf Resort, know the Mountain View Course is the less challenging of the two courses. I give a slight edge to the Firecliff course in terms of challenge and visuals but you can’t go wrong with either course.

Played the Purple tees (6507/71.2/128) in 4H, 25M. Matched up with Dan, Alan and Wayne for a fun round. The weather was 70ish, overcast and calm. The tees were mostly lush with only the par 3 tees needing divot repair. The lush over seeded fairways were nice to play from with few unfixed divots. The over seeded rough is excellent. Lush, great coverage, not too deep, the ball usually sat up. Also good to chip out of around the greens. The traps were decently maintained with good quality sand. The large greens putted medium speed, were firm/smooth and very consistent from green to green. Irons released somewhat, so take that into account on approaches. This layout is not quite as tough or picturesque as it's sister Firecliff course. However, it's still an challenging course that is fun to play. The customer service has been excellent every round I have played here. Drink cart out making the rounds & complementary range balls are included with your round on a very nice practice facility. I enjoy this layout and look forward to playing here again. Definitely recommended.

First time playing Mountain View, played Firecliff in the past and as it just came out of overseed I decided on Mountain View. It is quite different from Firecliff, I don't think the greens are as large as Firecliff, There is water which comes into play on the back nine for sure. Well placed bunkers, sand was good. Fairways are for the most part quite generous, and the rough isn't that difficult. Greens are in very good condition, ran true, but I found them to have some very subtle breaks. Service was good, rates at Desert Willow are always pretty high, but both courses are good.

This was excellent. The management was great. The customer service was great. The carts were great. The facilities were great, both golf and otherwise. The maintenance and maintenance people were great. Aaaaannnnnndd the golf was great. I am so happy with this experience.

I stayed at the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa, the reason that I mention this, is because the golf course and the resort are different entities, but they are joined as a physical location. There are two courses there, the Firecliff course and the Mountain View course. The reason that I mention that, is because the Firecliff course is closed due to maintenance. People say that the Firecliff is nicer because it does not play through the resort/buildings (Mountain View course), so I had to play the Mountain course and I loved it.

There was some miscommunication on my tee time, and the Pro-shop (Matt helped me) was very understanding and helpful. But I did have to talk with the manager - Joe and he was excellent, he really went above and beyond, he acceded which really REALLY helped me out. I am so happy with what Joe did for me, that I made plan to there again in two weeks even though it's almost a three hour drive and a lot of money for me. But I am very happy and grateful for his generosity.

Well, that's about it, because the course was GREAT from tees to greens from left to right, the entire course was immaculate.

We played here on Sunday the 24th the day before they closed for seeding so I won't do a detailed review but it was well playable and a nice round as always. I like this course just A hair better over firecliff. It seems to have a little more scenic beauty to it. Especially, I think it's hile 6, with the water all down the right and then the creek that you have to cross with the pond to the left. Also large palm trees with all the frawns hanging down… Really pretty. Looking forward to season!

Played here the day before they closed for over seeding so no sense giving it a rating. Of course still well enough playable. This is my favorite of the two. What I like so much about Desert Willow is that there is ample shade on the cart path by tee boxes and greens for the most part. Just have some well-placed trees that really help you stay cool in the hot summer. I look forward to some nice winter golf with those fun Canucks that come down for season.
