I got out to Cimarron for the first time as a single around noon. Rate was $42. I’ve wanted to cross this course off the list and I’m glad I made it out there to give it a try.
Not too much playing going on and I played through a twosome and didn’t see anyone else until 15.
They had a great driving range and practice area. Plenty of grass and ample targets.
I’d say this course is in great late AZ summer conditions. The fairways were carpet like with only a few dried out spots. Tee boxes were all in level spots and had enough grass. I was only in one fairway bunker and it was mostly dirt.
The greens were in great shape. No bare spots and few ball marks. All the greens were a consistent and good speed. Not many breaks but some difficult pin locations with many on the back.
The course sets up challenging but fair. Ample room off the tee and opportunities to recover. Par 4s were varying lengths.
I played out here because most courses in my area were closed or cart path only due to a huge rainstorm in the Scottsdale/PV area last night. I’m glad I chose this course. I’d recommend giving it a shot with current conditions.
