Played this course on a Saturday morning before a 1PM Spring Training game. Course was really fun and had a lot of undulating fairways and hard to find a flat lie. Thought the layout was great and had a lot of fun trying to figure out where to hit the ball. Course is not overly long but definitely has lots of trouble and lost balls are a given if you spray the ball a little

Greens were in trouble but still rolled ok. They were firm but very slow and have some patchy areas. Looks like they are battling a disease and the disease is winning.

Fairways great and tee boxes also good. In a couple bunkers and they were in need of some sand but not terrible.

Overall really like the layout and course and would definitely play it again.

Played Sunday 1/8 when a friend told me about a skins/closest to the pin game that started at 12:15p. It was $30 to play which included cart. $5 went into the pot for closest and $5 went into the pot for skins. Coyote Lakes is Par 71 relatively short course. It's a desert style with forced carries to landing areas. While it's less than 6300 yards it's fairly tight off the tee. Many fairways have some severe slope and mounding. Stray off the course, and the desert is pretty thick and rocky. Greens are large and have many different levels and tiers. The 5 Par 3's are a good mix of distances, but they are not real long. All the Par 4's are less then 400 yards with the exception of #18. 3 of the 4 Par 5's can be reached in 2. Generally conditions were good. The course had a full over seed. Fairways were nice. Some areas had some severe divot damage. Rough was thick but not too long. It would give you some flyer lies. I wasn't in the sand but those in my group who were, said it was good. Greens were medium-fast. (10.5 - 11). They rolled smooth and true, but they were very firm. You couldn't make much of a ball mark, just a small dent. You would have to play for your ball to release. Keeping it below the hole was tough. I putted from above the hole most of the day. I am being kind giving the tee boxes a fair rating. They are not level and are kind of small. Many were riddled with divots. The course has a short practice range where you can only hit the cayman balls. OK chipping area w/sand trap. Nice large practice putting green. Outside service was good. Beverage cart came around once each side. Carts have GPS. Course was very busy that day. POP was 4 1/2 hours. Submitted some photos. Skins Game Side Note: They played the skins game from the Gold tee. It was less than 6000 yards. It was the 1st one they tried to do this year and they said they want to do more. There were 16 players. No handicaps used in the skins game. It was a good mix of players, low to high handicaps. No scratch players. 5 skins were made. One was a Par on #2. I'll keep an eye on it and tell the GK community if they have more.

Played 1/20. 10am tee time. $51 rate included cart. Went out to Coyote Lakes last week to play with a friend who had recently moved into the community. It's in the town of Surprise, which is between Sun City & Sun City West. It has the vibe of a retirement community course, but it does have outside service and an on course beverage cart. It's a desert type course that is a little over 6300 yards. Many holes are tight off the tee and the fairways are tilted L-R or R-L. In the fairway I didn't have many flat lies. It's best to try to stay on the high side of the fairway if you can.

Conditions: Fairways were in very good shape. So was the rough. It was over seeded and is very thick in some cases. Sand traps were in good shape as well. The greens were nice. They rolled smooth and were medium fast. They have multiple tiers and have quiet a bit of slope on them. What I didn't like about them were the ridiculous pin placements they had that day. Why would you put pins 1 or 2 steps from the edges of the green? Why put pins right on the slope between to tiers of the green? I understand that the course had an outing that morning. It was a 4 man scramble. What were you trying to do, make it so a scramble team can't shoot under par? The other issue the course has is with the Green tee boxes. The green tee boxes are terrible. Not one tee box gives you a flat lie to hit from. All of them are humped giving you a sidehill ball below your feet or a sidehill ball above your feet. On the tee box rating scale, I would have given them a negative # if that was possible.

Practice facility was fair. They don't have room for a full driving range, so you have to hit the plastic cayman balls to warm up. The practice green and chipping area were fine. The course was really busy for a Monday. The round took over 5 hours to play. No ranger in sight. Would I play it again? Probably, just because I have a friend who lives there. Would I recommend it to others? I would because it is a good value. Just don't play from the tips and try playing on the weekend when it might be less busy.

Like this course allot, but you have be hitting the ball the fairway or you lose your balls. But course is fair and in good shape. Would play her again.

Played Sat. 10/2 and the course is about to overseed Monday. Tee boxes were almost bare and very uneven. Some fairways had brown dry spots most greens were in good shape meadium fast. went out at 6:22 and we finished at 10:15. About 95 when we finished.
Very tight course with houses all around. Water comes into play on about half of the holes.Some interesting holes. One par 5 has a rock wall below the green that is about 12 feet tall.Third shot better be right!Paid $34.00 so well worth it.

They are undulating and can be very challenging depending on pin positions. This course plays harder than it looks from the back tees. Not very long, but requires good shotmaking to score low

Depending on the time of year, this course can be quite a gem. It has nice and tough pin placements, the fairways are usually in great shape, though the greens have too many divots. The tee boxes have been very unleveled as well. Overall it's a good 8 out of 10 for its green fees, definatly worth a play, the service is great, though no driving range worth getting there early for.
