Conditions are now definitely middle of the summer shape. What was a 9/10 across the board 2 months ago in shoulder season are more in the 7-8/10 range now. Greens nice and smooth but slower than normal. Sand traps well maintained with good quality sand. Everything else is very playable but a good notch down from prime season conditions here. Services scaled back based on limited demand. Instead of roughly a dozen people manning the carts/starters/Marshal's/Driving range, it's more like 4 bouncing around trying to cover everything. POP not an issue, few out playing with temps in the 105-108 range. Still worth a play with quick POP and much lower rates. Water every few holes makes a quick 18 doable even with the temps.

Played several times this week. Greens improving every day. almost back to normal and rolling smoothly again after spring maintenance. With the temps north of 105 a few days, speed still a tad slower than usual. Barely any remnants of the top dressing still present. Tees, boxes, fairways, rough and sand in outstanding shoulder season condition. Excellent, fun, challenging layout. Really good practice area, Nice restaurant onsite, excellent customer service. Even saw a drink cart out making the rounds today, rare here. Recommended.

Facility currently down to 18 holes for maintenance. IMO, they opened up the Mountain front too early after spring punching. These greens are bumpy and it will probably be at least another week before they are good again. No 2' putt is a gimmee on these things, you could bounce offline and miss the hole from a few ft. away on a relatively good putt. Layout plays very different this time of year where they have all the rough remotely close to the greens mostly shaved down. Opens up putter or low bump/run as an option from well off many greens. Flipside is that when your ball rolls over a green, there is nothing to stop it from rolling well down until you hope it finally finds some taller grass or a low spot. Because if it does not, cactus and desertscape awaits. Course from tee to the fringes is in excellent shoulder season shape. Had an out of state guest play with me last weekend and they charged him $63. I had 2 thoughts... First, was pleasantly surprised the guest rates were that low on Memorial Day weekend. But second, $63 is probably too much based on the current condition of these greens. Great layout, beautiful course. But really firm, sanded, fast greens that are bumpy is not my idea of a good time. But POP is excellent. Basically whatever I choose this time of year with temps around 100 twilight when I usually play.

First time out after being away for a couple of weeks. Knew I was not going to get all 18 in, so decided to change things up and play tees that were unrated. I normally play the Green tees, which is 1/2 Black and 1/2 Gold. So half the black/gold tees I never have played. So played Gold on my normal Black tee holes and Black on my normal Gold tee holes. Would have to play that version a few times, but on first impression... Some of the Blacks I normally do not play, glad I don't, because there are some LONG holes from there...lol.

Beginning to get in "summer shape" although still clearly "shoulder season" condition. Firming up and drying out as the temps rise.

Tees and Fairways still very lush and well maintained. Sand almost always immaculate. Rough plays better than it looks when the Bermuda is still not completely out of dormancy everywhere. Mowed low but still will grab your club.

Greens very good, but not what they were a few weeks ago. Firm and smooth. But easier to putt once you get the speed down because they are not nearly as quick as they were in prime season.

Customer service excellent. Recommended.

Milder, wetter winter set this layout up for hopefully a longer plush shoulder season now that hot temps have returned. Still green, lush and playing very firm now that above 90 is again the norm.

Greens very firm and roll medium fast with few ball marks. Sand almost always excellently maintained here. Fairways/tees mowed low and very well maintained. Weak point if you consider 8/10 weak is the rough which is mowed low and a mixture of grasses, some coming out of dormancy, some already nice and lush.

Great practice facility, good restaurant, customer service always a ++ here. Recommended.

Played twilight today in very windy conditions.

Tee boxes immaculate with almost no divots because they are prepping them daily to have them looking sharp for the shootout next week. Same for the fairways. Firm, cut down and lush which produces some ridiculously long drives.

Sand very well maintained. Rough just long enough to be penal but not overly penal. Large green roll well and are firm. You have to play for release even on high, soft shots. They have many of the areas around the greens cut lower than usual. Nice for playing bump and run shots up/over mounds around greens. However, the flipside of that is approach shots barely missing greens won't stop right beside the green and will roll to a collection area.

Really nice, lush range that has 2 practice chipping greens. Snack shop at the turn, above average golf course Restaurant @ the Lodge.

Customer Service always very good. Well stocked pro shop. Carts have very good GPS systems. Highly recommended.

I usually avoid the crowded morning play and go out twilight. POP has been excellent, under 3.5H rounds. Weather also excellent, usually has not been windy and low 70's.

I usually avoid the crowded morning play and go out twilight. POP has been excellent, under 3.5H rounds. Weather also excellent, usually has not been windy and low 70's.

The Mountain course remains in excellent condition, near immaculate in many areas. Greens are firm and putt very nice. They are quick on downhillers! Fairways firming up and getting a decent amount of roll again after being soft for nearly 2 months after the overseeding. Sand traps almost always maintained in excellent condition.

Great staff, nice GC restaurant and snack shop on site. Usually no drink cart. Recommended.

I usually just go out as a single and get matched up with whomever, often out of towners here on vacation. Today was a real treat to play with 3 Sr. members who were fun to play with and played some good golf. Low 60's and calm.

Greens putt nicely, firm and quick. You better be a good lag putter on these large greens because you are likely to have many 50-100' putts that would be chips on many courses. And be prepared to play a bunch of break and trust that the slope will die it at the hole.

Course from tee to green is in excellent conditions. Lush and well kept up by the staff.

Excellent layout. The better (and tougher) of the 2 Ventana courses IMO. Nice restaurant on site, staff here is almost always top notch. Recommended.
