I've been wanting to play here for a long time as I am a great fan of Mackenzie. The layout is typical of his courses, nine out nine in, you don't get back to the clubhouse until 18. The staff was ok, they got me out right away with a threesome. Waited a couple of minutes on almost every hole. Not bad at all. Saw the refreshment cart 4 times and the water jugs where full and cold. This is a great walking course some slight ups and downs but I don't see why one would need to ride. There are a lot of bare spots when you get of the second cut. But all in all this is a good track and very playable, no gimmicks or tricks. We played in 4.5 hours about normal for here, they are always pact. I'll play here again, it was fun and enjoyable.

Fairways and surroundings lushed up and green. Fairways hard fast rough reasonable. Very enjoyable track and greens simply superb.

Played Sunday 8/1, 7am tee time; 4 hr round as a foursome; course in decent shape... fairways a bit ratty, but definitely playable; greens were SLOW, but true and in fine shape. didn't seem crowded at all for a sunday, even as i was finishing. driving range has new automatic teeing system, which is cool. nice day of golf... no walking rate, btw.

Played sat 9/26, 1pm shotgun; 4:40 rd. course in good shape... but i guess they just punched the greens right after... but the fairways were nice.. good day of golf

Played in a tournament 4/29; teed off at 12:10 and finished in 4:45 hrs. The fairways were narrow in a lot of holes but that made shot placement important. Friendly staff and the biggest hot dogs I've ever seen. The starter gave us some tips which were very helpful on these holes.

Very good course in excellent condition. One of the best in Sacramento and Northern California. Great facilities. Excellent practice facilities, the largest and best stocked pro shop I have seen at any public or private course. Best demo program I have enjoyed anywhere and excellent club fitting and teaching facilty. Great staff throughout. The course was designed by Alister Mackenzie and is an excellent layout. Maintenance is excellent and it is obvious money is well spent keeping the course in the best playing conditions possible. The value is tremendous considering the experince versus the cost. I recommend it to all levels at any time.

I've just played my last round there. I will NEVER go back!!! The place was flooded, cartpath only, and the sprinklers were still on all day. Completely unbelievable. we called the pro shop and they said it was up to the city, not their responsiblilty. What a load. You pay premium price and get trampled soggy course. Everytime I go there I have a terrible experience with the condition of the course. I don't mind paying top dollar. I play the Ridge, Darkhorse all the time, but to have to pay close to the same rate at a city course and have them be rude and not care about the course. They can have it. Hope you all will feel the same and maybe it will change.
